About the job

Do you want to help strengthen children's well-being, learning and participation in early childhood education and schools across Denmark? And are you motivated by using strategic communication to create visibility, engagement and impact around important societal agendas? Then you might be our new strategic communications consultant in Playful Learning.

We are seeking an experienced communications profile who will play a central role in developing our digital communications, press work and public affairs. You will help set the direction for how we tell Playful Learning's results, knowledge and ambitions, and bring them into play with professionals, decision-makers, partners and the broader public.

About the job

Playful Learning is a foundation-supported development program and a partnership between the professional bachelor schools in Denmark and the LEGO Foundation. In this position you will report to Playful Learning's program management and become part of a professionally strong and strategically focused communications team. You will work closely with the communications team in everyday work and with program management, research management and project leaders in our projects.

You will have a broad and independent role, where you are involved in developing Playful Learning's national communications and translating the communications strategy into concrete activities, initiatives and content. In other words, you will both help set the direction for the communication and ensure that it is carried out in practice.

Your main tasks are to

  • Drive and develop Playful Learning's digital channels, including the website in WordPress as well as Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Set editorial direction and coordinate content across channels based on the needs of target groups and user journeys.
  • Produce content for social media and website – including articles, graphics, video, audio and images.
  • Be responsible for press work and advise management on press and public affairs.
  • Support the program chief in being visible and clear in the public debate.
  • Develop core narratives and translate professional knowledge and results into strong messages and stories
  • Advise and spar with project managers on external communication, press and visibility around the individual projects
  • Collaborate and work with the program's project managers on strategic external communication centred on the individual projects in the program, including collaboration on plans for press, visibility etc.

The tasks span widely, and we would like to tailor them to your competencies, interests and professional strengths.

About you

You are an experienced communications profile who can both think strategically and translate strategy into action. You have a sharp eye for what makes a story relevant to different target groups, and you can translate complex professional material into communication that is clear, relevant and engaging. You thrive in a role with many collaborative interfaces and can build trusting relationships across a complex program. At the same time you have the professional heft to advise, qualify and challenge project managers, research management and program management in a constructive way.

We imagine that you

  • Have a relevant education at the master's level and several years of experience with strategic communications, digital communication and/ or journalism
  • Can write confidently and vividly for different target groups and formats and can produce graphics, audio and video for social media. It is a plus if you have experience with the Adobe suite
  • Have experience with press work, press strategy and advising leaders – preferably also with public affairs and communication in a political context
  • Can develop core narratives and identify the professional messages that can be translated into speeches, presentations, op-eds, press stories and content for social media
  • Have an eye for overarching strategic goals, while being able to understand and translate the individual projects' professional content, results and needs
  • Are a strong collaborative partner who can navigate between different professional areas, perspectives and interests and create progress across the program
  • Work independently and systematically, but also thrive in an environment where we work closely together and lift together when tasks require it
  • Have a good sense of the public and political debate within children, early childhood education, primary school and education.

The program consists of a number of projects that work with research and development of pedagogical practice in Denmark with a starting point in a playful approach, where play, creativity and curiosity are central driving forces for children's learning, well-being and participation.
