About the job
Are you good at communication – and at the same time a bit of a nerd? Do you want to help strengthen the Defence's digital communication and create insights that make a difference? Then it might be you we are looking for in a study-related job, where you have good opportunities for professional and personal development.
About us
The Defence is an area with great political attention and is undergoing a comprehensive development – also in the communications area. The Communications Department (KOM) has the task of supporting and strengthening the Defence's task execution through strategic and effective communication.
The department is anchored in the Defence Command in Copenhagen and Karup and consists of a strong, professional team with especially journalistic and academic backgrounds. Although things can move very fast at times, we make things work with mutual help and cooperation. Daily life is characterized by an informal and direct tone of voice with mutual respect .
We consist of five units, including a planning and analysis team, to which you will be attached. The team works with planning and execution of communication projects, as well as data and analysis work that supports the Defence's strategic communication. We handle a wide range of tasks, with the greatest emphasis on communication about military exercises and operations.
About the position
As a student assistant, you will among other things work with the operation and development of websites on SharePoint, which we use for knowledge sharing and broader dissemination. You help structure and update content, and you contribute to making tomorrow's solutions even better than yesterday's.
In addition, you have the opportunity to become part of the analytical team, which works with, among other things, media monitoring, audience knowledge, situational awareness, effect measurement and management information.
Your tasks will span a wide range and will include
- Building and maintaining SharePoint websites
- Image processing
- Data collection from various sources
- Participating in analysis work – with and without the use of AI
- Presenting analysis results in clear, visual formats
- Contributing to keeping Defence's communication channels up to date
- Diverse ad hoc tasks
The working hours are flexible and we will of course take your exams, holidays and other needs into account.
About you
You are pursuing a higher education and have a flair for technology, numbers and digital communication. You are curious, helpful and enjoy working both independently and in cooperation with others.
You could be a student in cand.comm., IT and communication, data science or similar. If you have experience with SharePoint, media analysis or data visualization, that is a plus – but most important is your willingness to learn and contribute.
We also highly value that you have a service mindset and are motivated by helping colleagues. There is also plenty of opportunity for you to bring your analytical and strategic skills into play and to propose new, relevant initiatives in the communications department.
Employment terms
As a bachelor student, the employment is in accordance with the applicable Central Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations – The State Sector (OAO-S Central Agreement) and the organizational agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT employees (HK agreement).
Your employment as a student assistant under the HK agreement is conditional on you being an active student and able to document that you are enrolled at a higher education institution or at an intermediate vocational education (MVU) at a university college or equivalent institution. The employment is time-limited to and including the completion of the bachelor’s degree under the HK agreement.
As a master's student, the employment is in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academics Agreement). The employment is time-limited.
There is an employer-financed pension scheme linked to the position.
The workplace is in Copenhagen, Holmens Kanal 9.
As an employee within the Defence Ministry's area, you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be security-cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.
You have a duty as an employee to perform service outside the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace-enabling, humanitarian and other similar operations.
