Do you have strong analytical skills? Do you feel at home with quantitative data, and do you have a sharp pen? Would you like to try working with top management support in a large public organization? Then it may be you we are looking for for the role as student assistant in the Analysis & Policy unit, where you work closely with Aarhus University's top leadership.

About us

We are part of the University Board Staff, where our main task is to contribute to realizing Aarhus University’s strategic goals and to support the university’s board, rectorate and university leadership.

Our scope is wide. We run strategic projects across the university, perform analyses and management information, drive internal decision processes, service meeting rounds and engage in political advocacy.

We are a total of 14 colleagues in the office with different professional backgrounds, ages and genders. Some have worked at the university for many years - others are relatively new. We value high professionalism, sparring and helpfulness - this defines how we are as colleagues. Our student assistants are a permanently integrated part of our team and are included in the task solving.

As a student assistant you will solve tasks ranging from more analytical tasks such as handling and updating key figures, preparing and setting up figures, quantitative analyses and summarizing reports to more practical and administrative tasks, such as meeting coverage and journaling, etc. We emphasize that our student assistants get the opportunity to drive their own smaller projects to contribute to professional and personal development.

We have two student assistants who share the work week, so there is generally always a student assistant at work. In rare cases there is a need for evening and weekend coverage.

Average weekly working time is 10 hours.

We expect to hold one interview round in week 44. In connection with the interview you will be asked to solve a small case assignment.

We offer

  • Diverse and varied tasks that will develop you - depending on skills and interests
  • That you gain experience with working in a complex, politically governed organization
  • A workplace characterized by high professionalism and a good social cohesion
  • Helpful colleagues who collaborate on task solving

About you

  • You have an interest in the university world and in administrative and analytical tasks
  • You are open to a job in a university-political environment where daily life is dynamic and where you are challenged
  • You work confidently with numbers and have a good analytical sense
  • You have good written communication skills
  • You are service-minded, independent and can meet deadlines. You have a focus on ensuring quality in the products you deliver.
  • You must have a driver's license, as service driving occurs
