Student assistant for the Copyright Nature project - DTU Construct

Copyright Nature: Experiential learning inspired by nature in technology development

Would you like to be our new student assistant on the newly started 3-year project Copyright Nature? Using biomimicry we will develop a new teaching material for high school (STX and HTX) with a focus on cross-disciplinary teaching in the 2 larger project tasks in 2nd and 3rd year.

The project is funded by the Leo Foundation and includes a project group consisting of Torben Lenau, Ida Toldbod from the communications firm Poco Piu, a scientific assistant, a graphic designer, an IT specialist and high school teachers from the gymnasiums NEXT Sukkertoppen and Aalborghus.

Many young people start school with a great curiosity about nature. They can be fascinated by biological phenomena such as the pearl's light and strong structure, the shark's hydrodynamic skin, and burrers ability to “grip.” Unfortunately, the sharp division of teaching into the individual STEM subjects means that some young people lose interest on the way up the grade levels.

Biomimicry offers a solution to this problem through a more investigative and interdisciplinary approach to teaching in the natural sciences. Biomimicry connects an understanding of how exciting biological phenomena work with a desire for technical development.

The job

You will contribute to coordinating and practically supporting project activities, including contact with high schools in connection with surveys and test courses. The tasks also include recording and maintaining data in databases, administrative support for the development of teaching materials and digital tools.

About you

We would like to hear from students who are interested in design and innovation. Experience with or interest in biologically inspired design can be an advantage.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the OAO-S collective agreement and organizational agreement for office clerks etc. §35 (HK/Stat).

Working hours are on average 10 hours per week and can be arranged flexibly regarding holidays, exams etc.

The position is desired to be filled by 15 November 2026 or as soon as possible.

Employment continues as long as you are an active student.

Workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.
