Student assistant sought for green operations

Are you a student in landscape architecture or urban landscape engineering, and would you like to gain practical experience in how we maintain the municipality and its green areas?

In Solrød Municipality we have many different tasks, and we are looking for a student assistant who would like to lend a hand with supervision, registrations and follow-up.

The tasks

Your tasks will mainly be to supervise various places in the municipality and register where the maintenance does not meet the agreed level. This could for example be supervising private hedges or the contractor's care of the municipality's green areas, and possibly other conditions that fall within a typical road and park contract. Afterwards you help to have the registrations processed further in our system.

Since the inspections take place around the whole municipality, it is a big advantage if you have a driver's license.

You will not be sent out on your own from day one. We ensure that you get a good introduction to both the tasks, our maintenance levels and the systems we work in. The most important is that you have an eye for green areas, can assess whether the described maintenance has been performed, and are curious about how green operations in a municipality work in practice.

Your qualifications

We imagine that you are studying to become a landscape architect at the master's level, urban landscape engineer, or something similar. You are interested in urban and nature planning, and especially the part dealing with the operation and maintenance of parks, urban spaces and other green areas.

There will be only limited tasks with new construction and design. On the other hand you will have the opportunity to get close to daily operations and gain a good understanding of how green areas are managed and followed up in practice.

It is also important that you write well and can express yourself clearly and precisely.

The job

You will be employed in the Center for City and Sustainability, where we are about 85 employees. You will join the Department of Operations and Infrastructure, where you will have 34 fantastic and engaged colleagues, of whom 19 are technical service staff distributed over 6 teams, as well as 15 administrative staff and project managers who sit physically at the Town Hall.

The position is 15 hours per week, and can be adjusted over time to fit your studies as needed. Therefore it can be a flexible student job that can be fitted in alongside your studies. We expect the employment to be for a minimum of 12 months.

You will be employed under HK's collective agreement and the salary is DKK 10,600 per month excluding pension.
