About the job

“You can look forward to having the opportunity to take responsibility for your own tasks and follow them through to the end. There is always something new to learn, so you can learn a lot.” This is how Fillippa, who used to be our student assistant at the Tax Appeals Board in Silkeborg, describes it. Do you want to gain insight into the work of a casehandler in an independent appeal authority? Join the student team.

Gain insight into legal case processing

The Tax Appeals Board is an independent agency under the Ministry of Taxation, where our main task is to ensure competent, efficient, and independent handling of appeals. In Silkeborg, we are currently looking for student assistants who want to help our casehandlers in the appeals processing in offices 3, 8, 9, 14 and 22.

The offices handle many different types of appeal cases in tax and motor claims, and as a student assistant you will thus have the opportunity to try your hand at administrative tasks within several legal areas. You will gain good insight into how we work with legal methodology and the work as a casehandler.

You will assist your colleagues in all five offices, but will be particularly attached to Office 3. You will be responsible for your own tasks and will be able to develop professionally with the tasks as you gain experience. With us, we place emphasis on viewing changes as a condition we actively take ownership of. We also focus on investing in good collaboration and being proactive with colleagues and partners.

You will receive training from an experienced student assistant and will have a casehandler as your fixed sparring partner. But of course you can ask the other caseworkers for advice – everyone is ready to help you, so you never stand alone with your tasks. The student team will consist of three to four student assistants, and together you will distribute the tasks that come into the team.

You will work about 15 hours per week, and there is a good opportunity to plan the tasks around your study schedule. At the Tax Appeals Board, we also support flexible working conditions.

Your primary tasks

  • prepare cases for the case handlers.
  • contribute to the handling of the Appeals Board – e.g., prepare material for board meetings.
  • prepare cleansing bundles and handle ongoing administrative tasks – e.g., order documents.
  • assist in connection with freedom of information requests and possibly with certain letters to appellants and representatives.

With these tasks we imagine that you

  • are pursuing a degree in law and have an interest in administrative and tax law.
  • would like to help our legal case handlers and are keen to solve a number of administrative tasks.
  • work independently and responsibly with attention to detail and with an emphasis on quality in your task execution.
  • would actively contribute to collaboration across several offices and communicate clearly both in writing and verbally.

Your new colleagues Lucas and Aske look forward to meeting you

”When you start as a student assistant with us, you will receive thorough training in the tasks we handle in the student team. You can look forward to having the opportunity to take responsibility for your own tasks and follow them through to the end. There is always something new to learn, so you can learn a lot. It’s great to get the opportunity to help several offices, because it gives access to knowledge about several case areas – and the atmosphere here is good and informal.”

Did you know…

… that the Tax Appeals Board is one of the country’s largest legal workplaces, covering the full spectrum of complexity in tax law – from property valuation to transfer pricing and taxation of employees.

… that the Tax Appeals Board is an independent appeals authority. This means that when a citizen or company has received a decision from, for example, the Tax Agency, which they disagree with, they can appeal to us. It can concern which tax or VAT they should pay. Our most important task is to help citizens and businesses obtain the correct decision in their case within a reasonable processing time. Every day we go to work to ensure the rule of law, and we think this gives our work meaning.
