About the job
Are you passionate about your profession? Do you want to help recruit new students, inspire and motivate your fellow students, and share your expertise? And would you like to develop professionally and strengthen your communication skills at the same time? Then the job as a student tutor might be for you.
We are looking for academically strong and engaged students from the psychomotorics program who, as student tutors, can contribute to the development of the future psychomotor therapists.
Role as a student tutor
You will mainly be responsible for tasks on 1st-3rd semester. The tasks mainly consist of teaching in the form of various exercises, where you must both plan and carry out the exercises. You should expect that the tasks are most often carried out together with other student tutors, but in some cases you must be able to carry out a task alone. There may also be other types of academic tasks related to the teaching in collaboration with the regular teachers in the program.
In addition, you will participate in selected bridging activities, where you among other things introduce and teach students from high school and HF.
Your role as a student tutor is special in the sense that you are at eye level with your students because you have recently been where they are now. You can therefore empathize with what is difficult and you can understand their reflections.
You will be assigned a teacher as a contact person, just as you will join a network with other teachers and already employed student tutors. You will be introduced to the teaching tasks you are to take on before you step into the role of a tutor for the first time.
It is planned that you participate as soon as possible in an one-day course for student tutors, focusing on how to organize good teaching. The teaching you undertake will be evaluated on an equal footing with our other teaching.
Your concrete tutoring tasks with students from the psychomotorics program will mainly be within one or more of the following areas:
- Teach an introduction in connection with the start of studies, including an introduction to IT systems
- Teach study techniques
- Introduction to the internship portal and certifications
- Introduction to the referencing system and assignment writing
- Co-tutor in the treatment field
- Co-tutor in workshop teaching in physiology
- Co-tutor in workshop teaching in anatomy
- Peer-facilitated learning café in physiology
- Facilitator and tutor for the treatment room
Across all areas there will be a focus on training concepts and creating understanding of the academic contexts - this may be in a defined subject area or across several areas.
We imagine that your teaching will supplement the theoretical instruction and study tasks with additional training of concepts, etc.
In connection with bridging with gymnasium and HF students you will participate, among other things, in study internship, HF internship and other bridging and recruitment initiatives.
About you
We expect that you
- Have a desire and talent for conveying your professional knowledge and your commitment – perhaps you already have experience with teaching or oral communication
- Perhaps have knowledge of professional practice in your program beyond what can be expected of you as a student
- Enjoy collaborating and thrive in working with several people to achieve a goal together
- Have passed relevant exams in the semesters on which you are to teach
We offer
As a student tutor you will receive
- A unique opportunity to join a professional community where you are inspired and challenged by developing your own teaching – those who learn the most are the ones who teach the material themselves
- Opportunity to develop your communication skills
- Teaching tasks that will be arranged in relation to which semester you are a student, including extent and content
Salary and terms of employment
You will be employed as a student tutor with start asap. This is a fixed-term appointment for up to 3 years, depending on how far you are in your studies.
The scope of work can vary but is estimated to be around 25 hours per semester
You are employed on an individual contract.
Your employment takes place in accordance with the Regulations on the Position Structure for Teachers at Higher Education Institutions at business academies, professional universities etc., no. 414 of 27 April 2025.
Employment as a student tutor requires that you are enrolled as a student at a higher education institution, and that you have completed the 1st semester of the education to be taught or an equivalent level.
The workplace is located at Carlsbergvej 14, 3400 Hillerød.
