About the job
Are you passionate about your profession? Do you want to help recruit new students, inspire and motivate your fellow students, and pass on your professional knowledge? And would you also like to develop professionally and strengthen your communication skills? Then the job as a student instructor may be something for you.
We are looking for academically strong and engaged students from the psychomotor education program, who as student instructors can contribute to the development of the future psychomotor therapists.
The role of the student instructor
You will mainly handle tasks on the 1st-3rd semester. The tasks mainly consist of teaching in the form of various exercises, where you must both plan and carry out the exercises. You should expect that the tasks are most often carried out together with other student instructors, but in some cases you will need to handle a task alone. There may also be other types of academic tasks related to the teaching in collaboration with the regular teachers in the program.
In addition, you will participate in selected bridging activities, where you among other things introduce and teach students from high school and the Danish HF program.
Your role as a student instructor is particular in that you are at eye level with your students because you have recently been where they are now. You can therefore put yourself in their position, understand what is difficult, and understand their reflections.
You will be assigned a teacher as a contact person, just as you will join a network with other teachers and already employed student instructors. You will be introduced to the teaching tasks you will undertake before you first step into the role as an instructor.
It is intended that you participate as soon as possible in a one-day course for student instructors, with a focus on how to plan good teaching. The teaching you provide will be evaluated on an equal footing with our other teaching.
Your concrete teaching tasks with students from the psychomotor education program will mainly be within one or more of the following areas:
- Teach an introduction in connection with the start of studies, including an introduction to IT systems
- Teach study techniques
- Introduction to the internship portal and certifications
- Introduction to the reference system and assignment writing
- Co-teach in the treatment field
- Co-teach in workshop teaching in physiology
- Co-teach in workshop teaching in anatomy
- Peer-facilitated learning cafe in physiology
- Facilitator and instructor in the treatment room
Across all areas, the focus will be on training concepts and creating understanding of the professional contexts – this can be in a specific subject area or across several areas.
We anticipate that your teaching will supplement the theoretical teaching and study tasks with additional training of concepts, etc.
In connection with bridging with high school and HF students, you will participate in study internships, HF internships, and other bridging and recruitment initiatives.
About you
We expect that you
- Have the desire and talent to convey your professional knowledge and your engagement – possibly you already have experience with teaching or oral communication
- May have knowledge of professional practice in your education beyond what is expected of a student
- Like to collaborate and thrive in working with several people to achieve a goal together
- Have passed relevant exams in the semesters you will be teaching
We offer
As a student instructor you will receive
- A unique opportunity to participate in a professional community, where you are inspired and challenged by developing your own teaching – those who learn the most are those who teach the material themselves
- Opportunity to develop your communication skills
- Teaching tasks that will be planned with regard to which semester you are a student on, in terms of scope and content
Salaries and terms of employment
You will be employed as a student instructor with immediate start. This is a fixed-term appointment for up to 3 years, depending on how far you are in your studies.
The extent of the work may vary, but is estimated to be around 25 hours per semester.
You are employed on an individual contract.
Your employment is in accordance with the Regulation on the job structure for teachers at higher education institutions at business academies, professional university colleges etc., no. 414 of 27 April 2025.
Employment as a student instructor presupposes that you are enrolled as a student at a higher education institution, and that you have completed the 1st semester of the education on which you will teach or an equivalent level.
The workplace is located at Carlsbergvej 14, 3400 Hillerød.
