About the job
Are you a journalism or communications student with an eye for a good green story? Can you write vividly, ask the right questions, and convey through text, images and video? Then you may be our new student assistant. Køge Municipality is growing and developing. New housing areas are springing up, businesses are moving in, and at the same time we must create more nature, take care of the climate and find new green solutions. The green transition is therefore an important part of the work with the Future of Køge Municipality.
We would like to be even better at telling that story. Therefore we are looking for a student assistant who can help us tell the stories of the green transition – through text, images and video – and engage citizens, businesses and the local community.
Get close to the green transition You will become part of the area Green Transition in Køge Municipality, where we work with climate, environment, nature, biodiversity and the Green Tripartite as well as the development of new areas. You will get close to concrete projects and the people who work with the green transition in practice. An important part of the job will therefore also be to get out into the real world, meet people and find the good stories.
At the same time you will become part of the municipality's Communication Team , where you will get sparring on stories, angles, target groups and formats.
Your tasks Your most important task will be to translate complex topics into engaging and understandable communication.
You will among other things
- find and develop stories about the green transition in Køge Municipality
- write articles, news and case studies for the municipality's various channels
- interview citizens, employees, businesses, farmers, associations and partners
- produce short videos – from idea and interview to recording and editing
- translate complex professional material into lively and easily understandable communication
- research and qualify stories with facts and relevant sources
- find people and concrete examples that can make the green transition tangible and relevant.
Who are you? You are pursuing a education in journalism, communication or a related field and want to work with real stories about the green transition.
We attach importance to that you
- write clearly, vividly and purposefully
- have an eye for a good story and a sharp angle
- are curious and good at asking questions
- can convey complex material in an easily understandable way
- are interested in climate, nature, environment or the green transition
- preferably have experience with video recording and basic editing
- can work independently and take a story from idea to finished product
What do we offer? You get a student job where you can translate your expertise into practice and gain experience with journalism and communication in a large, politically led organization.
You get a lot of freedom to find stories and develop angles, and you will work with text, images, interviews and video. At the same time you will become part of a professional environment where we spar, develop ideas and help each other.
We offer flexible working hours that can be adapted to your studies and exam periods.
Practical Working hours: 10 hours per week
Workplace: Køge Town Hall
Application deadline: 1 November 2026 at 23:59

How to apply Interviews are expected to be held in week 46 .
Before the interview you will receive a brief case within the green area. We are especially curious about how you find the angle, which sources you would involve, and how you would convey the story. The case can be based on both text and visual communication.
Apply via "Search for the position" by attaching your application and CV. We also welcome examples of texts, videos or other productions you have created. References can be obtained after further agreement.
