About the job

Do you want to help create the best opportunities for young people in Sønderborg Municipality – and translate ambitions into action?

Are you passionate about making a concrete difference for young people and strengthening their opportunities for education, employment, well-being and participation in communities? Do you also have an eye for structure, coordination and good collaborative relationships in a complex daily life? Then you may be our new specialist adviser in the youth area.

In Sønderborg Municipality we work purposefully to enable more young people to succeed in education, employment, well-being and active participation in communities. The youth area is in an exciting development, where strong and coherent efforts across education, employment, health, social affairs and civil society are essential.

As a specialist adviser in the Department of Health and Youth you will play a central role in supporting the head of discipline and the leadership team in the youth area. You should contribute to creating an overview, progress and coherence in the operational tasks and in the implementation of concrete projects and decisions.

You will thereby have the opportunity to translate decisions and professional needs into concrete actions that support effective operations and make a difference for the municipality's youth.

Your tasks

Your tasks will be varied and will develop over time. You will support the head of discipline and the leadership team with creating an overview, following up on agreements and ensuring progress in the area’s operational tasks. You will also prepare notes, briefs, presentations and other materials that support the leadership's work and the ongoing development of the operations.

A substantial part of the role will be to contribute to the implementation of concrete projects and the realization of decisions made. This includes, among other things, coordinating tasks and processes across the area, planning and facilitating meetings, workshops and networks, and supporting collaboration between managers, staff, other departments, educational institutions and external actors. In addition, there are ongoing ad hoc tasks in an organization where flexibility, structure and reliable follow-up are needed.

We imagine that you

  • have a relevant higher education, for example within the social sciences, the education sector or public administration
  • have experience from a politically governed or other complex organization
  • can create overview, structure and progress in tasks with many stakeholders and dependencies
  • communicate complex issues clearly and precisely through notes, briefs and presentations that support the leadership's decisions
  • have experience with implementation, coordination or facilitation of processes and thrive close to both operations and development.

As a person you are good at building relations and collaborating with many different professional disciplines. You work in a structured and independent way, have an eye for quality and deadlines and take initiative when tasks call for it. Most of all you are curious and motivated to create tangible value for young people.

Knowledge of the youth area would be an advantage, but not a requirement.

We offer

We offer an exciting and meaningful position where you play an important role in supporting daily task execution and the development of the youth area in Sønderborg Municipality. You will become part of a strong professional environment with engaged and capable colleagues and a workplace characterized by trust, dialogue, humor and collaboration.

The position provides good opportunities for both professional and personal development as well as a broad and varied task portfolio with independent responsibility and close collaboration with the head of discipline and the leadership team. We also offer flexible working arrangements with the possibility of home office.

About us

You will be part of the Department of Health and Youth in the Children, Education and Health administration. Here we work with initiatives that strengthen young people's well-being, health, education and opportunities to master their own lives. As a specialist adviser you will work closely with the head of discipline, the leadership team in the youth area and the consultants in the department and in the Support function.

We believe the best solutions are created in collaboration. Therefore we work closely with young people, employees, managers, educational institutions, civil society and other actors across the municipality.
