About the job

Health-care hourly-paid staff for the Gastromedical Ward K0161

It is so rewarding to work with our patient group. Many of them are vulnerable and with somewhat precarious lives, and we really make a difference for them.

The collaboration between doctors and nursing staff is fantastic.

We have fun in the staff group, even though we sometimes are busy. We have good self-irony, and we think we are funny.

We have good psychological safety.

This is how the staff describe daily life on K0161 – and it is precisely that combination of professionalism, camaraderie and humor that we would like to invite you to become part of.

At the Gastromedical Ward K0161 at North Zealand Hospital we are looking for hourly-paid colleagues who want to become part of a community with high professionalism, good mood and close collaboration across professional groups.

Perhaps you are a nursing student, social and health care assistant trainee, medical student or have another health-professional background. Perhaps you already have experience from a hospital – or perhaps it is the first time you try your hand at the hospital world.

The most important for us is that you want to work with people and contribute to a good and safe everyday life for our gastromedical patients.

Who are we?

K0161 is a specialized gastromedical ward with a varied patient group admitted with diverse liver and intestinal diseases.

We are a staff group with different professional backgrounds, ages, and experiences. We see our differences as a strength and emphasize that we help each other and use each other's competencies.

We have close collaboration between nurses, social- and health carers, doctors, therapists and other professional groups. As a hourly-paid employee you will also be part of this community and have the opportunity to experience how a ward operates in practice.

And there should also be room for a good laugh in everyday life. We prioritize a good collegial community and try to create a work environment where it is both pleasant to be and educational to work.

What will you do?

You will be an important part of daily life and help with both practical and patient-related tasks including:

  • Serving meals and drinks
  • Assistance with personal care and mobility
  • Practical tasks in patient rooms
  • Tidying up and preparing
  • Fixed shifts with a patient when needed
  • Other relevant patient-related and practical tasks

We always tailor tasks to your competencies and ensure that you feel secure in what you do.

A job where you learn something

With us you gain experience of the hospital world, interdisciplinary collaboration and patient contact – while becoming part of a ward focused on learning and development.

You will gain, among other things, experience with

  • Patient contact and care
  • Collaboration across professional groups
  • Everyday life on a specialized medical ward

You get two onboarding days , where the focus is on you getting to know the ward and your tasks and becoming comfortable being with us.

After that your colleagues are ready to help you and answer questions when you need it.

We imagine you

  • Are responsible and reliable
  • Want to work with people
  • Are curious and want to learn
  • Thrive on collaborating with different professional groups
  • Can stay calm and keep an overview, even when it is busy
  • Want to contribute to a good professional and social working environment

You do not need to know everything in advance. We provide onboarding and help you become confident in your tasks.

Flexible shifts that suit you

We know that an hourly-paid job often has to fit with studies, exams, holidays and other plans. Therefore you have the opportunity to take shifts that suit your daily life, and we try to be flexible when planning.
