About the job

Do you want to help strengthen the well-being of children and youngsters from the earliest years? 37 hours per week – starting 1 January 2027

Our colleague has moved to Jutland, so we are looking for a new colleague.

Would you like to work in a holistic way with children, young people and families – and help make a difference both in the early years of infancy and in school life? Then you may be the person we are looking for as our new public health nurse.

About us You will be part of the Public Health Nursing in the Center for Children and Family in the Municipality of Tårnby.

In the Center for Children and Family we strive every day to give children and young people the best opportunities for well-being, development and participation in communities. We believe that the best solutions are created together with the children, the young people, their families and the professionals around them.

The Public Health Nursing is organized in a close interprofessional collaboration with PPR, the Family House and Family Counseling. We work in districts where, together with our interprofessional colleagues, we create coherent and early interventions for children and families.

In the Public Health Nursing we are 12 public health nurses with broad experience and high professionalism. We work independently, but place great emphasis on sparring, joint reflection and a strong collegial community.

About the position The position is a combined school- and early childhood position with affiliation to Skelgårdsskolen and Løjtegårdsskolen, where you work closely with another public health nurse.

You will become a central part of both the early interventions in families with young children and the health work in school age, where you contribute to promoting well-being, mental health and healthy communities.

You will join the interprofessional district team around the school, where you cooperate with, among others, social workers, psychologists, speech therapists and special education consultants.

Your tasks will include, among other things, to

  • handle public health nursing tasks in both toddler/young child and school areas
  • conduct home visits to newborn and young child families
  • work with early detection of distress and support families’ well-being
  • conduct health education initiatives in the school
  • collaborate closely with the school, kindergartens and other interprofessional partners
  • use relevant screening and assessment tools in the early childhood area
  • contribute to coherent interventions in the district and smooth transitions between home, day care and school.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • is educated as a public health nurse
  • has an interest in both the toddler/young child and school areas
  • works holistically and with strong relational skills in meetings with families
  • thrives in interprofessional collaboration and actively contributes to shared solutions
  • can maintain an overview in a busy day with many different tasks
  • works independently and in a structured manner
  • wants to engage in both professional and collegial sparring.

We offer

  • a combined position with both toddler/young child and school tasks
  • affiliation with Skelgårdsskolen and Løjtegårdsskolen and close collaboration with a colleague
  • a strong interprofessional district team with high professionalism
  • a group of 12 dedicated public health nurses
  • introduction, mentorship program and good training in both school and toddler/young child areas but also an interprofessional mentor who will introduce you to the interprofessional work
  • focus on professional development, sparring and well-being
  • a workplace in development with a strong collegial community.
