About the job

Are you a trained freight forwarder – or do you have other experience with logistics and supply chain? And would you like to take on a broader role with more responsibility for planning, forecasting and purchasing?

Pharma Nord is one of Europe’s largest producers of dietary supplements and medicines and has activities and offices in Europe, Asia and North America.

We are looking for a new Supply Chain Assistant for our team in Vojens. The position combines international transport and logistics with forecasting, purchasing and Sales & Operations Planning and gives you the opportunity to develop more broadly within the Supply Chain.

The position may among other things be interesting for someone who has studied in the shipping industry, gained the first years of experience and now wants to use your transport-technical background in a broader Supply Chain function.

About the role

The position is overall divided between two central areas of work. About half of your time will be focused on transport and logistics to a number of Pharma Nord’s international markets. Here you will be responsible for booking, coordination and follow-up on transports as well as handling the challenges that arise along the way.

You will have close contact with carriers, freight forwarders, our markets and internal colleagues and will be responsible for ensuring that the transports are followed all the way through to delivery.

Your tasks within transport will include

  • Booking and coordination of international transports.
  • Follow-up on ongoing consignments and delivery times
  • Dialogue with carriers, freight forwarders and internal stakeholders.
  • Handling delays, deviations and other transport-related issues.
  • Securing and following up on relevant transport and shipping documentation.
  • Follow-up on claims and delivery problems.

The other half of the role will be concentrated around our Sales & Operations Planning processes.

Here you will be the facilitator for collecting monthly forecasts from our markets and you will play an important role in reviewing and qualifying the submitted needs.

You should not only collect the numbers but also relate to them. If there are significant changes compared to previous forecasts, historical sales or market expectations, you should follow up and help to ensure a as accurate planning basis as possible.

Based on forecasts and need analyses you will, among other things, work with

  • Development and follow-up of needs analyses.
  • Sourcing and purchasing of selected production materials.
  • Follow-up on supplier orders and expected delivery times.
  • Handling of delivery problems, deviations and claims.
  • Coordination with sales, production, warehouse and other Supply Chain functions.
  • Continuous improvement of processes, analyses and tools.

You will thus be part of follow a significant part of the supply chain – from expected sales needs and material supply to the final delivery to our markets.

Qualifications

We expect you to have a relevant professional background and already have some practical experience with transport, logistics, Supply Chain or similar.

You could, for example, be a trained freight forwarder who has gained the first years of experience in the industry and now wants to use your transport-technical background in a broader Supply Chain role. Here transport will still be an important part of the job, but you will also have the opportunity to develop yourself within forecasting, planning, sourcing and purchasing.

You may also come with another relevant logistics or Supply Chain background.

As a person we imagine you

  • Work in a structured way and have an eye for detail.
  • Have good numerical understanding and thrive on working with data.
  • Are curious and interested in understanding the relationships behind the numbers.
  • Take responsibility and see your tasks through to the end.
  • Keep an overview when plans change or problems arise.
  • Are solution-oriented and persistent.
  • Communicate well with colleagues, suppliers and external partners.

You should be able to communicate well in both Danish and English, in writing as well as verbally.

Experience with international transport, freight forwarding, forecasting, purchasing or Supply Chain is an advantage. The same goes for experience from the food, dietary supplement or pharmaceutical industries and knowledge of GMP, but it is not a requirement.

As a substantial part of the work is data-based, we also expect you to be proficient in Excel and have an interest in ERP systems, analysis tools and large data volumes.

Your new workplace

Pharma Nord’s Supply Chain department consists of an experienced team working with, among other things, transport, forecasting, needs analyses, purchasing and production planning.

The department has broad contact with the rest of the organization and plays a central role in Pharma Nord’s business.

You will become part of a team where each employee is responsible for their own areas, while we collaborate closely and help each other across.

For the right candidate, the position provides an opportunity to build on existing experience with transport and logistics and at the same time develop skills within, among other things, S&OP, forecasting, sourcing and purchasing.

We also offer our employees an attractive fruit and lunch scheme, health insurance and the possibility to participate in various staff events.

Workplace: Pharma Nord ApS, Tinglykke 4-6, 6500 Vojens. We would like you to live within reasonable commuting distance from the workplace – preferably with a travel time of a maximum of about 45 minutes.
