Support a 35-year-old man in Ballerup in a 1:1 relationship (every other Sunday)

About the task

A 35-year-old man needs support to have good and meaningful moments in his weekend. He lives in a care home and is cognitively affected after a head injury, which means, among other things, that he has difficulty remembering what he has done and said, and does not always recognize people around him.

The man is also visually impaired and has movement difficulties, and needs guidance – both in conversations and in movement. However, he can walk independently and gladly participates in activities when he feels safe. He especially enjoys museum trips and thrives in the fixed framework and services available at the residential facility.

Your task will be to create calm and recognizability in the interaction, take initiative for activities and support him in maintaining overview – both in conversation and in movement.

About you

You may be trained as a pedagog or have experience from, for example, the dementia field or working with adults with cognitive challenges. You can be present in repetitions and guidance and meet the citizen with respect, clarity and calm. It is not a requirement to have a formal education, as it is the human contact, patience and calm that are most important.

Working hours

The position is 7 hours every other week

• Sundays 10:00–17:00 in odd weeks.

It is an advantage if you can also cover shifts during holidays and sickness.

DUOS supports the man every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00-17:00, so it may also be possible to swap shifts with the other staff.

You will become part of a family-owned company with many dedicated employees. You have a fixed advisor whom you can always get sparring from. Outside office hours there is always a staffed on-call phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the National Agreement for Handicap Assistance in the citizen's own home (minus BPA) entered into between FOA and Dansk Erhverv. You are covered by DUOS’ liability and occupational accident insurance, and health insurance is part of your pension scheme.
