Support and sensory play with boy in Brønshøj

About the task

A family in Brønshøj is seeking support for their 9-year-old son, who is diagnosed with infantil autism. He is a happy and good-humored boy who thrives in active interaction and needs an adult who is ready for play, movement and physical activity.

The boy is motorically active and sensory-seeking and needs a lot of bodily and sensory input during the day to thrive. He especially enjoys outdoor trips as well as activities such as trampoline, swing and water play.

He does not have verbal language, but communicates through sounds and body language. Your task will be to read his signals and engage in play that both brings joy and supports his motor development.

About you

You are a trained pedagogue and have experience with children with autism. You work in a structured way and can simultaneously be active and participatory in play. You have an eye for sensation and motor skills and can adapt your approach to a child who needs clarity, repetition and guidance. You are calm in your demeanor and clear in your communication.

Working hours

The position is 24 hours per month. The shifts can be distributed on weekdays and weekends, of 3-4 hour shifts, typically in the time window 11:00–14:00 or 15:00. The family is flexible, so propose what possibilities you have.

Outside office hours there is always a staffed emergency phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the National Collective Agreement for handicapped assistance in the citizen’s own home (minus BPA) concluded between FOA and Dansk Erhverv. You are covered by DUOS’ liability and work injury insurance and health insurance is part of your pension scheme.

You receive relevant introduction and ongoing upskilling - and you will not be able to avoid developing yourself both personally and professionally when you work with people with us at DUOS.
