Nurse sought for Preoperative and Awakening, South, AUH

Is your nursing future in short-term hospital care and in a good working environment? If that sounds interesting, read on. We are seeking a nurse for 37 hours in mixed shifts. Employment from January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

As a colleague with us you can help influence the department professionally and establish social traditions. Preparation and Awakening South is a 24-hour ward that receives elective and acute postoperative patients from five organ surgical specialties, radiological examinations and endoscopies. In addition, we receive patients from the inpatient wards for optimization of pain management. You will gain broad knowledge in pain and nausea management, which are core services in our awakening/recovery unit.

Moreover, we receive acute patients for pre-optimization, preoperative preparations with e.g. block and epidural placements and discharge certain patient groups to their own homes postoperatively. We assist anesthesiologists with procedures e.g. CVCs and have a specialist role in ultrasound-guided PVK placements in the South at AUH.

The breadth of our specialties, variation and the complexity of our patient pathways provide a varied, exciting and inspiring everyday life. Awakening has an important function in coordinating and ensuring good patient pathways, which require and provide great flexibility in everyday task solving.

We work closely together and therefore offer opportunities to develop clinical competencies, professional sparring and feedback to one another. You will, upon employment, be assigned a mentor.

We have interns from the Intensive Care and Anesthesia training as well as nursing students from several semesters. We have just been nominated for the students' internship prize for the best internship site in Region Midtjylland.

We are looking for nurses who

• preferably have a couple of years of experience, are confident in your professional skills and want to show what you can do
• are interested in a job with a multiplicity of nursing tasks where every day is different
• can work independently and have a good overview
• can combine nursing and technology
• are positive and eager to contribute actively both professionally and socially
• are capable of establishing a relationship with the patient in the acute, critical and often short course.

We offer

• 6-8 shifts roughly every 4 weeks
• weekend shifts roughly every 3 weeks in 8-hour shifts

• about 40 colleagues with broad experience and good age distribution
• on-the-job training outside the norm in 4-6 weeks
• follow-up with accompany days and relevant teaching in the first 6 months.

Salary and employment conditions in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Employment is conditional on a satisfactory child/youth care certificate and a satisfactory authorization.
