Nurse for the NV1 shielded unit at Symfonien

Do you want to use your full nursing expertise while helping to raise the quality of care in the dementia field?

At Symfonien in Næstved, we are looking for a nurse for NV1 – a secured unit with 25 residents spread across two departments.

Here you will become an important part of a multidisciplinary community where we create safety, dignity and quality of life for people with dementia and cognitive challenges. You will work closely with the residents and also play a central role in the professional development of practice.

About Symfonien and NV1

Symfonien is part of the Elderly Care area in District NordVest, Næstved Municipality. In NV1 we work in multidisciplinary mini-teams and take the whole person as our starting point – the resident’s health, well-being, resources, life history, wishes and daily life.

We believe that the best solutions arise when the right competences are brought into play at the right time. Therefore, nurses, social and health care assistants, social and health helpers, unskilled staff, pharmacy technician, kitchen manager and relevant professional specialists work closely around the resident.

Food is prepared close to the residents and tailored to individual needs, including dysphagia. For us, the meal is nourishment, community, recognition, quality of life and care.

Your role

As a nurse in NV1 you will have a central role in ensuring and developing the health care quality. You observe, assess, act and follow up on complex nursing issues and contribute to safe documentation and high patient safety.

Good nursing for us involves medicine, treatment and clinical observations – and also relationships, security, prevention of distress and understanding what may lie behind a behavior.

An important part of the role is to share your knowledge through on-the-spot mentoring and practice-oriented/bedside training of both trained and untrained colleagues. You should be willing to be the colleague who says: “Let’s look at it together.”

You will have great opportunity to plan and prioritize your nursing tasks autonomously. In close collaboration with management you will follow up on professional initiatives and contribute to the overall quality of the secured units.

We are looking for someone who

• is a educated nurse
• has an interest in the elderly care sector and preferably experience with dementia
• has strong clinical and relational competencies
• works in a structured way, keeps overview and can prioritize independently
• takes professional responsibility and dares to make decisions
• wants to share knowledge and strengthen colleagues through on-the-spot mentoring and practice-oriented/bedside teaching
• is curious about other professional disciplines and can communicate your own professional skills so they make sense in practice
• sees documentation, quality and patient safety as a natural part of nursing
• wants to develop both yourself, your colleagues and our shared practice

You do not need to be a dementia specialist when you start. Maybe you have many years of experience, maybe you are newly qualified. The most important is your professional curiosity, your engagement and your desire to make a difference for people with dementia.

Salary and employment terms are according to the applicable collective agreement between KL and DSR.

Start date 1 December 2026.

Working hours per week: 37 hours, mainly day shifts with every 3rd weekend on call.
