The Dental Service in Svendborg Municipality is looking for a Dental Hygienist for our Children’s and Adolescent Dentistry. We are experiencing an increasing intake of children and adolescents and therefore want to expand our team.

An important role in pediatric and adolescent dentistry

As a Dental Hygienist with us you will have a central role in preventive and therapeutic dental care for children and adolescents.

You will often be among the first professionals that children and families meet in the dental service. This gives you a special opportunity to create a sense of security, build good relationships and help lay the foundation for healthy teeth and good dental care habits – from the little child's first visit to the adolescent approaching adult life.

We see the Dental Hygienist as an independent and important professional resource in the clinic. You will have responsibility for your own tasks and patients, while always having the opportunity for professional sparring with your colleagues.

You will, among other things, work with

• examinations of children and adolescents
• diagnosis and treatment planning
• preventive dental care and health promotion
• individual guidance and instruction to children, young people and parents
• creating safe and positive patient experiences
• collaboration with dentists, clinic assistants and other colleagues
• close collaboration with the orthodontics department
• working with delegated tasks
• professional sparring and knowledge sharing with your colleagues

Who are we?

The Dental Service in Svendborg Municipality is a modern municipal dental service with 20 clinic rooms and around 50 skilled staff members.

We work in the TK2 patient record system and have, among other things, a scanner and CBCT.

Every day we strive to ensure the best possible dental health for around 14,000 children and young people aged 0-21 years. In addition, we offer dental care to adult residents within the care, special care and social dental services, as well as orthodontics in our orthodontics department.

We have brought several dental care professional areas under one roof. This gives us a strong professional community with good opportunities for sparring, knowledge sharing and development across disciplines.

We place emphasis on professional development and sparring. We hold calibration meetings, morning briefings in the departments and joint staff meetings. In addition, we offer ongoing courses and opportunities for further education, e.g., with external speakers.

Salary and employment

• In Svendborg Municipality the salary for a Dental Hygienist is calculated between DKK 35,145 and DKK 49,945 per month for full-time employment (37 hours), in accordance with the EU Salary Transparency Directive. Full-time employed Dental Hygienists in the Svendborg Dental Service are employed on an adjusted time with a working fraction of 33.71 hours for 37 actual hours per week. The salary is calculated including pension, special holiday allowance and fixed allowances. There may also be shift allowances and other special payments. It is important to note that your specific salary will be determined based on your experience, seniority and competencies and negotiated with the relevant professional organization.
• HR department will obtain a child safety check for the successful applicant. It is a requirement for employment that the checks are satisfactory for the position. The assessment is made by the Legal Department in collaboration with the area director.
