We are looking for

A capable and committed teacher, where this year's timetable includes Danish and Christian studies in 6th grade, home economics in 5th and 6th grade, as well as teaching Danish as a second language in reception classes and as support in Danish as a second language in the classes. Additionally, a few lessons are planned in kindergarten (0th grade). We are open to changing the timetable as needed, for example if you have competencies in music. It is an advantage if you can see the benefit of moving teaching out of the classroom and using nature and the outdoor areas as learning spaces.

You should be able to work from a child-centered view that is based on a fundamental understanding that children do their best, they are more alike than different, and it is the professionals who can do something else.

In leadership we support the work of creating increased participation opportunities for all children throughout the school day.

What the students say

When the student council was asked what wishes and expectations they have for a new teacher, they reply: Someone who is fun and has humor, someone who can do fun things such as playing rounders with the students. Someone who is serious, a teacher who wants and likes it, and who can explain things so that the students understand.

Who are we?

We are a village arrangement with a diverse composition of children and students, which is a big plus. We are a school and SFO (after-school care) with about 100 children and 16 adults, which provides a close and safe environment for the children to be and learn in. Our approach to each other, regardless of who we are, is expressed in everyday life through an affirming language that reflects our understanding of differences.

The joint board is engaged in the village arrangement's daily life and development. We value cooperation with the parents and have close contact with them about big and small things.

The school, SFO and the children’s house use the surrounding nature in daily life. There are good opportunities to plan the students' teaching outside, both close to the school, in the forest and in the park, which are within walking distance from the school.

Child-friendly municipality and child and youth policy in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality

Espe School is a school in a child-friendly municipality. Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality has entered into a collaboration with UNICEF to become a child-friendly municipality. That means that awareness and respect for children's rights are a prerequisite for our pedagogical work.

We work based on the values and guiding principles in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality's child and youth policy. The child perspective consists of a shared child and youth perspective, where the focus is equal rights, equality and inclusion

In addition the policy rests on five central guiding principles that show the way to a good child and youth life in the municipality:
