About the job

Teacher at Hans Rømer School – we form resilient children & young people

Do you want to be part of Hans Rømer School?

We work to create the best and nicest school offering for the school's children and their parents. Do you want to join? Then hop on the HRS wagon as soon as possible and no later than December 1, 2026, as we need a new teacher who basically is good at and crazy about the natural science subjects. Maybe you are also a mathematics advisor or you have a dream of becoming one, so seize the moment now.

Your professional profile

  • You are skilled in and crazy about mathematics, perhaps so much that you want to become HRS’s mathematics advisor?
  • You are also passionate about other subjects such as geography, biology, science & technology, physics/chemistry, perhaps physical education?

If you don’t have the full subject package, but something else that is good as well, still contribute with what you bring and what, for you, makes the teaching job the best. Then we will look at it.

For we are primarily looking for you who have a future HRS heart in your chest. You who, in addition to being academically strong and dedicated, also want to work from a common pedagogical and didactic stance, where we all do what we know works better than anything else; where we work from the guiding principle of thinking ’shared task solving – shared responsibility’, where we work together to make a good school even better.

You are well helped on the way to the job if you

  • are a trained teacher
  • of course are crazy about delivering good teaching and see the strength in doing it together with your colleagues & your leadership
  • wish to work at a school where we together develop our school offering with an eye to creating a good both learning and working environment for both big and small

This is our school

At Hans Rømer School we work from our vision of forming resilient children and young people with a focus on learning and well-being, so that every single child is equipped as best as possible to navigate society. At our school we have children who learn and thrive. We love making a good school – and we are good at it. We are an ambitious and competent staff group with high well-being. We have a well-functioning school board as well as a positive parent community.

Our goals & dreams

We want to develop our school offering further. Therefore we look into a near future where we will work even more from a clearly defined view of children, namely that children do as well as they can. We will also take the next step in our effort to work from a shared practice, where we all do what we know works and what is needed to create the best learning environment for our students. We believe and experience that when we do something together, it also strengthens our own job satisfaction, engagement and our sense of community in the workplace.

Let us share daily life – with a high degree of freedom

In addition to creating the best school offering for the joy of the school's parents and students, it is also important for us to have a good working community and work environment. We are at the school when it is required, and we also provide the opportunity for you to organize where and when you schedule your individual working hours. This makes very good sense – and adds value for us.

A workplace that binds the island together

BRK is a unique municipal workplace because the island is an independent region. We therefore work with strategies and tasks within business, tourism and traffic, which are areas normally not handled by Danish municipalities. At brk.dk you can read more about the municipality, which with 3,600 employees is the island's sovereign largest workplace.

BRK is a smoke-free workplace.

We help you settle in

It is a big decision to move to the ‘sunny island’ – so you are not alone with it. We have a settlement consultant who helps with housing, a job for your spouse and school or leisure activities for the family’s youngest. Read more here.
