About the job

We are seeking a teacher for Sinding School's special provision, Kahytten, 0.-6. grade, 37 hours per week, with start date 01 November 2026 or as soon as possible. Kahytten is housed in the school's former headteacher's residence. Sinding School is an inclusive and spacious village school, located 8 km north of Herning.

The children’s group consists of cognitively normally gifted children aged 6-13 years. The children have very different backgrounds and a wide range of challenges, but what they all share is that they have difficulties in relationships and emotional regulation. There are thus both children with and without diagnoses, or with mixed diagnoses.

Our pedagogical work includes, among other things, together with the child and their family, creating a new positive narrative with new coping strategies, which can form the framework for a new beginning on several levels. We work purposefully to create a secure everyday life with a good childhood, so that the children can experience joy of life. One of the most important focal points is therefore good experiences with the feeling of succeeding in a community and having value as the person you are.

In our work with the child, we are focused on possibilities, relationships, and wholeness.

The children are taught in the subjects Danish, mathematics, physical education/swimming, English, and in 6th grade German. The other subjects are in the cross-disciplinary module, where for shorter or longer periods a topic is worked on from each subject's angle. In cross-disciplinary work, the teaching is practical, musical, and textual. The teaching in the subjects takes its starting point in each individual child’s prerequisites, both academically and personally.

It is important that the children experience success at school. Kahytten’s children are this school year divided into two groups during parts of the school day, with one teacher in each group.

In this school year you will be the classroom leader for 4 of the boys in close cooperation with a pedagogue and an occupational therapist. In the coming school year, the group composition will be reviewed again. The two groups of children have many joint activities both on a daily basis and at events throughout the year. Therefore you should be willing to have close collaboration with the team’s other teacher. Your qualifications

  • You must be able to master creating a good relationship with each child
  • You must be eager, together with the team, to work on developing the child through life-affirming social and relational interaction
  • You must be pedagogically well-founded and curious
  • You must be a skilled classroom leader
  • You must be interested in working cross-disciplinary
  • You must believe that parents are important in our work
  • You must want to be part of an exciting and close team collaboration
  • You must be emotionally resilient and adaptable
  • It would be advantageous if you can teach reading and spelling instruction and possibly beginner English
  • You must enjoy the outdoors
  • You must enjoy being physically active

We can offer

  • An exciting job where two days are never the same
  • The opportunity to be an important part of a child’s life and future
  • A workplace where teamwork, cross-disciplinary work and close collaboration are a fundamental cornerstone
  • A workplace with staff and a Joint Board characterized by strong commitment

Start date
