Kathøj Svallerup School is seeking engaged teachers due to an increased student numbers. We are seeking educators either in the primary and middle grades, and we would very much like to hear from you, regardless of what subject combination you bring.

About the students and our pedagogical approach

Our students are characterized by diagnoses such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and relational disorders. They often carry a range of personal, academic and social difficulties and are influenced by prior experiences of setback.

About the job

As a teacher with us you become part of an ambitious school and day-treatment framework. The goal is always to strengthen and raise the students' academic level as much as possible – based on the premise that academic learning requires secure relationships.

Your tasks will include

• Teaching in small class teams: Structured and differentiated teaching in a close partnership between teacher and educator.
• Efforts for students with low school attendance: Some of our students have troubling absenteeism or school refusal. We seek teachers who have the courage and willingness to work patiently and outreach – including meeting the student at home to gradually build a bridge and restore the relationship to the school.
• Close parent collaboration: We have a positive and engaged parent community with whom we work closely regarding the children's well-being and development.
• Interdisciplinary sparring: Close collaboration with educators, psychologists and internal resource persons.

Your profile

We emphasise your relational skills and your pedagogical commitment

• Professionally solid and pedagogically curious: You don’t necessarily need many years of experience in the special needs field, but you are eager to bring your teaching professionalism into a special education and treatment-oriented framework.
• Meets the student as a whole person: You look beyond the behavior and meet the student with calm, patience and mentalizing capacity.
• Strong in partnership and team collaboration: The collaboration between teacher and educator is the school's cornerstone. You thrive in a close multidisciplinary pairing where you spar openly, take initiative and dare to try new paths.
• Reflective: You value professional sparring and see supervision as a natural part of your professional development.

Salary and terms of employment

The positions are permanent full-time. Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement including an OBS and all-day school supplement of about 3,000 DKK per month.
