About the job

The position is a permanent full-time role, and we would like the start date to be as soon as possible – no later than December 1, 2026.

About the job

Knudsø Department is part of Søhøjlandets School and Kindergarten, where we every day strive to create a safe, inspiring and academically strong school for all students.

We are looking for a engaged and relationship-oriented teacher who wishes to become the class teacher of a newly merged 5th grade, which used to be two classes but will in the future be characterized as one class with 34 students. You will become a central adult in the students’ everyday life and have the opportunity to influence both their academic, social and personal development in close collaboration with the rest of the class team.

At our school, full-time staff teach 25 lessons per week, with a priority on two-teacher lessons. In particular for the new 5th grade, three adults are prioritized around the class at all times.

As class teacher you will be part of a close team around the class. We place a high value on collaboration and therefore offer multi-adult lessons together with either the other class teacher or the attached pedagogue. There are always two Danish teachers for the Danish subject, and two mathematics teachers for the mathematics subject. This provides good opportunities to create inclusive learning environments, differentiate teaching, and strengthen students’ well-being.

About us

Søhøjlandets School and Kindergarten should continue to be characterized by an approachable and safe community where relationships are at the center and where we know each other across the school. We have an engaged parent community that actively supports the students’ everyday life at school, after-school care (SFO) and clubs.

Knudsø Department

At Knudsø Department we are proud to be part of the overall Søhøjlandets School and Kindergarten, where we place great emphasis on community, formation, well-being and strong relationships – both between students, staff and parents. We believe the best solutions are created together, and therefore teachers and pedagogues work closely to create a safe and motivating daily life for the students.

We expect that you

Enjoy responsibility and influence, and want to actively contribute to the development of both teaching and the shared working environment. With us there is room for initiative and a fundamentally appreciative approach to students, parents and colleagues.

Furthermore, it is important that you

  • Are a trained teacher.
  • Have subject-specific qualifications or equivalent competencies in Danish, physical education and preferably craft & design.
  • Are a clear and present class leader.
  • Thrive in close collaboration with colleagues, pedagogues and parents.
  • Have an appreciative approach to children and actively work to create participation opportunities for all students.
  • Are keen to develop both your own practice and the school’s joint teaching.

For us it is important that you want to become a permanent and significant adult in the students’ school life and contribute actively to the development of both teaching and the school community.

We offer

  • Multi-adult lessons, together with the rest of the class teachers or the attached pedagogue, so we can together create the best framework for the students’ learning, participation and well-being.
  • Engaged colleagues – both teachers and pedagogues – who are passionate about their subjects, about the children and about creating the best surroundings for the students.
  • A close team collaboration where we plan, implement and evaluate teaching together.
  • A strong professional community with colleagues in both the Siim Skov department and the Knudsø department, including a Danish language network across the entire school.
  • A safe and manageable school environment where “all students are everyone’s responsibility.”

Interviews will be held on October 27, and the application deadline is October 24, 2026.

The position is expected to be filled as soon as possible and no later than December 1, 2026.
