About the job

Would you like to become part of an exciting and developing special education professional environment and can you see yourself contributing to a really good collegial community?

Group arrangement's school and after-school care services are aimed at children and young people who have an autism diagnosis.

We are a group arrangement with 90 children from 0th to 9th grade. In each class there are 4-10 pupils. Pedagogues and teachers work closely together to create safe, structured and inspiring school days for the children. In addition, the pedagogues also work in our own SFO and club, which provides opportunity to create coherent and secure everyday lives for the children.

The children in the group arrangement have very different learning needs. Differentiation of the children's academic, social and personal learning is therefore a prerequisite to meet children who sometimes need alternative ways of learning. Our pedagogical approach is based on creating a predictable, recognizable and visually structured school day, with appropriate challenges for each individual student.

Beyond academic teaching, teachers and pedagogues focus on supporting the students' needs for social learning, and work purposefully with the students' prerequisites for engaging in interaction and communication. We support the students in being in relations and activities with their peers and are concerned with ensuring each student participation opportunities in meaningful communities.

The children in the group arrangement need adults who meet them with patience and understanding of their particular needs and challenges. We deliberately work with a conflict- and stress-reducing pedagogical approach, where we are with the children in an affirming, calm and solution-oriented way.

With us you become part of an engaged and supportive collegial community, where we prioritise professional sparring and safety highly. We have a very close collaboration with PPR, family therapists and social workers, and all teams receive ongoing supervision from the PPR psychologist.

As a special education service linked to a mainstream school, we are part of a larger development-oriented professional and social environment. Among other things, group arrangement's staff and the staff of the mainstream school join together in professional teams, at joint meetings and at events and parties.

As a teacher in the group arrangement you have the opportunity to put all your professional competences to use and teach in several subjects.

We are looking for a teaching colleague for permanent appointment who

  • Is a trained teacher
  • Has experience in special education teaching within the autism field, and has knowledge of approaches to and planning of predictable, visual and structured learning programs.
  • Values being part of a professional learning environment based on close cooperation between teachers and pedagogues and other professionals.
  • Sees the potential in a close and tuned collaboration with parents.
  • Works in an appreciative way with a basis in the principles of Low Arousal.
  • Knows and recognises the importance of relationship work from a professional perspective.
  • Is robust and energetic with a calm temperament.
  • Can describe students' development, challenges, progression and goals, both in writing and orally, in connection with e.g. intake cases, status reports and network meetings.

As a colleague in the group arrangement you can especially look forward to

  • A working community with high professionalism and mutual support
  • Great influence on your everyday life and teaching
  • A workplace with the heart in the right place – and ambitions for both children and adults

We look forward to hearing from you
