About the job

Are you interested in special pedagogy, including the autism area in particular, and are you passionate about working with students who require a uniquely focused approach and support.

Then we have a school where collaboration, curiosity and an affirming approach to the students are at the forefront. Motivation and meaning for our students are often driven by special areas of interest and academic strengths, and here the staff's unique approach plays a central role.

We are seeking teachers with high professional competence as well as special education interest and/or experience.

As of December 1, we have the following full-time 37-hour positions at the Ellebæk department

  • Permanent teacher for the lower primary (grades 1-4)
  • Permanent teacher for the middle grades (grades 4-7)
  • Permanent teacher for the upper grades (grades 8-10)

In the application, please indicate which grade levels you are interested in.

Life at Ellebæk

The everyday life for students at the Ellebæk department is organized with academic content in accordance with the Folkeskoleloven (Danish Public School Act). That is, subject-differentiated lessons in combination with work on personal and social skills – life skills.

The common factor for the students is that they have difficulties within the autism spectrum and a cognitive level within the normal range. The daily life is therefore characterized by an autism-specific special education approach to the students and the communities, where curiosity and collaboration form the basis of daily practice.

We expect you to

  • thrive on working with some of the most vulnerable students in Holstebro Municipality
  • have a good spirit and wish to participate in and contribute to a good collegial community
  • be a psychologically robust and balanced person who possesses a strong sense of collaboration
  • take responsibility that the relationship succeeds – both adult-child and child-child relationships
  • take responsibility that the student's day is organized so structured, predictable and manageable that the student's opportunities to participate are optimized
  • through good classroom management can create development, learning and well-being
  • be skilled at engaging in close cooperation with the parents
  • be able to operate in an environment where the everyday life for the adult can be unpredictable and changeable
  • be passionate about cross-disciplinary collaboration, both internally with the school's other subject groups including pedagogues, guidance counselors and therapists, as well as externally, where among others the Family Section, the Knowledge Center and UU are our partners.
