Team Leader for Budget and Control in Finance and Procurement

Sorø Municipality is looking for a Team Leader for Budget and Control. The municipality is characterized by a flat structure with short decision paths and close collaboration across the organization. You will become part of Finance and Procurement, which consists of three teams that work closely together to support the municipality’s financial management and administrative tasks.

You will play a central role in the daily leadership of a professionally strong team and in the continued development of the municipality’s financial management. The position is newly established and gives you the opportunity to set the direction for an important team leadership role with great significance for both employees, cross-organizational collaboration and further development of the area.

In close cooperation with the Finance Director and the municipality’s managers, you will help create coherence between financial priorities, strategic goals and the municipal task solution.

Responsibilities - what you will do with us

As a new Team Leader you will be responsible for creating clear frameworks around the team’s tasks, resources and deadlines and for ensuring a sensible prioritization and distribution of work. You will handle the close personnel management through ongoing dialogue, sparring, feedback and follow-up and support a work environment characterized by trust, professional development and shared responsibility.

You will also become an important link between Budget and Control, the other teams in the department, the Finance Director and the municipality’s other centers. Here you will contribute to clear roles and well-functioning collaboration interfaces, and communicate financial issues so that they become relevant and usable for different target groups. You will bring the team’s financial-technical perspectives into cross-cutting collaborations and contribute to solutions where financial frameworks and professional needs are considered together.

The role as Team Leader combines team leadership with your own financial consulting tasks. You will therefore both manage the daily leadership of the team and have an independent task portfolio within financial management. At the same time, you must be close to the team’s deliveries, actively contribute to complex tasks and bring your own financial expertise into play. This means that you not only set the direction for task solving, but also contribute with professional analyses, sparring and solutions in central financial tasks. The concrete task portfolio will be adapted to your skills and the team’s needs.

Profile - what we expect from you

We expect you to have a relevant financial professional education and solid insight into municipal financial management, budgeting, planning and resource management. You have an understanding of the conditions and decision-making processes that characterize a politically led organization. Experience from a municipality would be a clear advantage.

You may have leadership experience, but it is not a requirement. The crucial thing is that you have clear leadership potential, a desire for people management and the ability to create followership. You are present and accessible, set a clear direction and at the same time give capable employees room for responsibility and professional development.

You create strong collaborative relationships across disciplines and organizational levels by meeting different perspectives with curiosity and respect. Your communication is clear and welcoming, and you can translate complex financial analyses and priorities into understandable messages and usable decision foundations. At the same time, you work in a structured, analytical and solution-oriented way and have an eye for both the detail and the overall municipal task solution.
