Team Leader for Product Development

The product team at Saphe works closely with several parts of R&D, while requirements for, among other things, documentation and security are growing. This places greater demands on coordination, prioritization and clear direction.

The team is small, experienced, and used to short decision paths. Now there is a need for a team leader who can create more structure around the work without making development heavy.

Role

The team today consists of two experienced and autonomous profiles and is about to be expanded with a third colleague.

You will take over the daily leadership and coordination of the team, which today sits with the CTO.

You will become a player-coach for the team. This means that you will continue to be able to engage in technical discussions, contribute to code, testing and documentation, and challenge the solutions. The emphasis of the job lies in coordination, planning and ensuring that the team fits well with the rest of R&D.

You will therefore work closely with, among others, mobile, backend, Quality Assurance, marketing and customer service.

Your responsibilities

An important part of the job will be to translate ideas and business needs into realistic technical tracks and deliverables. Some solutions will be well defined. Others must be investigated, tested and evaluated before the team can decide the right path.

Here it is expected that you can drive the process from an overall need to concrete deliverables. This includes, among other things, identifying the relevant stakeholders, exploring and clarifying needs and dependencies across the organization and ensuring that agreements, decisions and deliverables are maintained and communicated clearly.

You will among other things

• own the team\'s roadmap deliverables and translate them into concrete tasks and deliverables that can be planned into the team\'s sprint
• coordinate dependencies and releases with mobile and backend teams
• set the technical direction together with the team within firmware, embedded Linux and hardware integration
• follow products from prototype and bring-up through testing and production maturation
• be the technical contact point for the manufacturer in China regarding design clarifications, component choices and quality
• ensure a well-functioning approach to testing, CI, documentation, cybersecurity and regulatory requirements
• develop the team through sparring, recruitment, 1:1 and professional development

Together with Quality Assurance you also take responsibility for developing the test strategy for the embedded products and increasing the degree of automated testing.

Your profile

You have experience leading others. It could be as a team leader or from a lead role where you have had real responsibility for planning, coordination and technical direction.

At the same time you have a solid background in embedded product development.

We place particular emphasis on the fact that you

• have experience with embedded products where firmware, software and hardware must work together
• have worked hands-on with embedded software, including programming in C
• have experience coordinating technical deliveries and creating direction across teams and partners
• can independently translate high-level needs into concrete deliverables and drive clarification with relevant stakeholders across the organization

It is an advantage if you have worked with technologies such as Zephyr RTOS, Nordic Connect SDK, embedded Linux, Yocto or hardware bring-up.

Experience with industrialization, external manufacturers, cybersecurity or regulatory requirements for connected devices is also relevant.

We do not expect that you can do it all. The most important thing is that you have the technical understanding to engage in the team\'s work and at the same time can take responsibility for direction, prioritization and collaboration.

You speak and write Danish and English fluently.

You join a team with high professionalism and great independence. The task is therefore not to introduce processes for the sake of processes, but to create the overview and the structure the team needs.

You must be able to stand firm when several good ideas compete for the same resources, and provide constructive pushback both technically and commercially. At the same time you should give experienced specialists room to excel in their field.

At Saphe

Saphe develops connected devices and digital solutions for motorists based in Aalborg. The product development spans embedded software, hardware, mobile apps, backend, data and quality.

As a team leader you will be closely involved in the entire product lifecycle, from the first technical experiments and prototypes to the collaboration with the manufacturer and products that are in use by customers.

You will influence both technology choices, ways of working and the ongoing development of the product team.

Saphe also actively works with AI tools in development, including for code, tests, documentation, research and analysis.
