About the job

The Child, Youth and Family Contact (BUF) is a cross-professional early intervention team consisting of 14 professionally competent, engaged and ambitious employees with social work and pedagogical backgrounds, most with therapeutic further education, primarily within the narrative field.

In terms of tasks, the team spans a wide range and includes Family Counseling in Schools and Daycare, Outreach Street-Level Work, Open Anonymous Counseling, SSP and Digital Formation. The target group is children and young people aged 0 to 18, and the legal basis for the team’s work is primarily sections 28 and 29 of the Child Act. In addition, the Intervention Team MIFU is a high-intensity home-based intervention for young people as an alternative to placement; based on principles from relational welfare, also anchored in BUF. MIFU has seven employees, including a professional coordinator.

You will become part of a new leadership team consisting of you and two team leader colleagues from respectively Child and Family Interventions Authority and Youth and Special Interventions Authority. At the same time you will be part of a larger leadership group across Your Social Access, which is a new organization aimed at supporting greater cohesion across professions and interventions.

You step into a larger restructuring and development process based on the principles of relational welfare, which is about putting human relationships and collaboration at the center, instead of systems and silo thinking.

There will be a strong focus on cross-professional collaboration and on relational capacity.

In the leadership team there is a focus on creativity and quality in task execution, a focus on leadership development, transparency in processes and decisions, respect for each other’s differences and respect for the common

You will report to a leader who leads with trust, which concretely means that as a team leader you will have a large scope of leadership to operate in. You have control of operations while you can think outside the box. There is a high ceiling – you must be able to navigate and thrive in it.

You should be able to see yourself in a department with many different professional backgrounds, all on a common mission to create good welfare solutions together.

You lead with the mindset that children and young people are not the problem – they show the problem .

Your main tasks will be

  • Employees’ tasks require them to be out in practice and work very independently. Therefore, it will be an important task for you as team leader to ensure good relationships and presence-based leadership. You must be a professionally competent sparring partner and support the employees in the dilemmas that arise in a daily life filled with many stakeholders across professions, departments, centers and hierarchies
  • To maintain a continued and continuous focus on the professional direction; including strengthening cross-professional collaboration both internally in the team, between the different teams in Your Social Access and across the entire center
  • To ensure stable operations
  • Professionalism is high in BUF, but so is the complexity – you must therefore have an eye for and focus on employees’ well-being and work environment

As the head of BUF you will have many collaboration surfaces, so you must be able to engage in cooperation with many different actors and thus be able to navigate with a natural respectfulness, authority, humility and authenticity in various cross-professional forums and organizational domains

Formal qualification requirements

  • You have a relevant educational background within one of the professions represented in the team
  • You preferably have a leadership education
  • You have experience with professional leadership and/or professional coordination
  • You have knowledge about prevention and children and young people in vulnerable positions
  • You preferably have experience with both advisory and treatment tasks
  • You understand working in a politically governed organization

Personal competences

  • You are a trusting, relationally competent, listening and inspiring leader, who sees the individual, the whole person and the community
  • You are development-oriented, spot potential improvements and want to help build something new, with respect for what already works
  • You have perspective and are focused on new knowledge that can inspire development
  • You can support employees’ creativity while at the same time being direction-setting and framework-providing
  • You have good collaboration skills – you are curious, investigative and dialogue-seeking
  • You are ambitious – on behalf of your employees, the citizens and the social sector

We look forward to hearing from you!
