About the job
Be part of developing the future of elderly care in Syddjurs Municipality
Do you want to lead two interdisciplinary citizen teams where the employees have a lot of responsibility close to the citizen, and where your main task is to create direction, well-being and development?
In Syddjurs Municipality we are seeking, as of January 1, 2027 or after agreement, a team leader for Citizen Team 11 and 12 in Søhusparken in Ebeltoft. We are looking for a leader who can create engagement, support self-managing teams and contribute to the continued development of our elderly care.
A leadership role with meaning, responsibility and influence
You will become the leader for about 40-50 engaged employees distributed across two interdisciplinary citizen teams. Together you will provide holistic care tasks for the citizens based on rehabilitation, professional quality and strong relationships.
You will be responsible for creating the best framework for employees to succeed with their tasks close to the citizen. This involves both ensuring stable operations, high professional quality and a good working environment as well as supporting the development of self-managing and interdisciplinary teams.
You will also step into a reality that many leaders in the elderly sector know. We, like the rest of the sector, experience challenges with recruitment and retention of staff, increasing complexity in citizen pathways and high expectations for quality, coherence and continuity in care.
Therefore we are seeking a leader who can stand strong in operations, be close to the staff and at the same time drive development. A leader who can create direction in a complex everyday life, support the professional and personal development of staff and contribute to us remaining an attractive workplace going forward.
You will be part of Cluster East, where you report to the cluster manager and participate in close collaboration with your team leader colleague, resource planners and other partners.
With us you are not alone with the leadership task. We prioritize sparring, shared leadership responsibility and a strong collegial community where we help each other with both operations, development and the challenges we encounter along the way.
You will become part of the Syddjurs model
In Syddjurs Municipality we work from the vision of strengthening citizens’ self-determination and creating greater coherence and continuity in care through interdisciplinary, self-managing citizen teams.
That means decisions, to the greatest possible extent, are made close to the citizen by the employees who know the citizen’s needs best.
That places special demands on leadership.
As a team leader you must be able to create direction without taking over the employees’ responsibilities. You must support employees’ professional development, promote interdisciplinary collaboration and ensure the quality of task execution through trust, dialogue and clear leadership.
We will of course provide a thorough introduction to both the Syddjurs model and the leadership role.
Your key tasks
You will be responsible for
- ensuring high professional quality and a rehabilitative focus in task execution
- supporting self-managing teams through visible and approachable leadership
- creating well-being, engagement and a good working environment
- managing personnel leadership, including recruitment, onboarding and sick leave
- ensuring that tasks are carried out within applicable quality standards and frameworks
- contributing to responsible financial and resource management
- driving development and changes in close collaboration with staff and leadership colleagues
- contributing to the overall leadership responsibility in the cluster
- being able to create calm, direction and prioritization in a daily life characterized by change and increasing complexity
In addition, we are a practical place for social and health education as well as nursing education, which is why you will also play an important role in the development of future staff.
Who are you?
We imagine that you
- have a relevant health professional education, preferably as a nurse
- have leadership experience within the health, care or elderly sector
- have a leadership education or motivation to complete one
- have an understanding of leadership in a politically governed organization
- can balance considerations of quality, economy and staff well-being
- see digital solutions and welfare technology as a natural part of future welfare
We also value that you
- are visible, relational and clear in your leadership
- can create motivation, engagement and following
- thrive with facilitative leadership and employee involvement
- communicate in a recognition-based and dialogue-based manner
- can translate visions into action and achieve results together with the staff
- have an eye for the connection between quality, well-being, economy and competence development
- can attract, develop and retain staff
- can create direction and prioritization in a daily life characterized by change and increasing complexity
Why you should choose us
With us you get
- an attractive leadership position with great influence on the development of elderly care
- a strong leadership community with a high degree of sparring and collaboration
- engaged and competent staff
- opportunity to make your mark on the work with self-managing teams

- a workplace where we believe in trust, responsibility and joint solutions
