Are you the engineer colleagues go to when the code is hard, the architecture matters, and the team needs technical direction?

Cubris strengthens the engineering organization around GreenSpeed® as part of the ambition to build a strong technology competence center for intelligent rail solutions within Hitachi Rail.

We are therefore seeking a Tech Lead , who combines deep hands-on software engineering with strong architectural judgment.

This is intentionally not a classic leadership position.

You will spend about 50% of your time as Lead Developer and 50% as Software Architect .

You will continue to develop production software, solve complex technical problems and help other developers – while representing the team in the Architecture Group and translating architectural decisions into concrete solutions and standards.

As Lead Developer

You will, among other things,

• Write and deliver production code
• Take ownership of technically complex stories and issues
• Remove technical blockers for other engineers
• Coach developers through pairing, design discussions and qualified PR reviews
• Elevate automated testing and CI/CD
• Improve pipeline reliability and developer effectiveness
• Strengthen observability through logs, metrics and traces
• Drive systematic reduction of technical debt
• Establish usable patterns, runbooks and reference implementations

You must, in other words, continue to be technically credible because you work with the technology yourself.

As Software Architect

At the same time you should

• Represent the team in Cubris’ Architecture Group
• Translate ADRs and architectural principles into concrete team standards and guardrails
• Define service boundaries, APIs, events and data contracts
• Define and verify non-functional requirements including security, reliability, performance and cost
• Drive technical migrations and integrations
• Manage architectural dependencies and compatibility
• Maintain architectural documentation, roadmaps and decision records

You will be the technical bridge between Product, Engineering and Architecture .

Who are you?

We expect that you have

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering
• Experience in driving technical initiatives or teams
• Strong skills in C#/.NET
• Experience in designing distributed systems and/or microservices
• Solid SQL/NoSQL fundamentals
• Experience with API design, domain modelling and event-driven architecture
• Solid understanding of CI/CD and modern software delivery
• Experience with cloud, containers and orchestration
• A strong engineering mindset around reliability, observability, security and performance
• Ability to develop other engineers and communicate technical decisions clearly

Our current environment includes, among others, C#/.NET, .NET Core, Entity Framework, MS SQL Server, Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD and Visual Studio , while Azure, Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code are gaining importance.
