Technician/Designer for Qaqortoq

At the Technical and Environmental Department in Qaqortoq, the position as technician is available to be filled as of 01. December 2026 or by arrangement.

The technician is organizationally placed in the Technical Administration in Qaqortoq, but has collaborative relationships with all the municipality's administrations as well as tasks in all three towns and 11 settlements. Therefore a fair amount of travel within the municipality can be expected.

The position

You will be working as a technician in the administration. Responsibilities and competency areas will primarily include the following:

• Inspections in the environmental sector.
• Regulatory tasks in the construction sector.
• Minor design and supervision tasks.
• Inspection and assessment of buildings.
• Land-use administration.
• Supervision of various tasks in the settlements and sheep-farming sites attached to Nanortalik.
• Supervision of the operations area as well as other cross-department tasks within the administration.

We expect that you

· Have a relevant education and preferably experience with some of the work areas.

· Preferably be multilingual (Greenlandic, Danish, English…).

· Are service-oriented with good collaboration skills and good humor.

· Can work independently and systematically.

· You have an IT mindset and at least some knowledge of the Office suite, NunaGIS and ArcGIS.

· Can express yourself clearly and visionary in drawing, writing and speaking.

Salary and terms of employment

Employment and remuneration will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreements between the Greenland Self-Government and the relevant trade union.

Housing can be allocated for the position, for which a deposit and rent etc. are paid according to the applicable rules.

The municipality covers travel and moving expenses associated with the employment in accordance with applicable rules.
