About the job

Do you love electronics, and do you want to make a difference in the health sector? Now you have the chance to get a meaningful job with exciting tasks and plenty of opportunities for professional development.

The Purchasing & Medical Technology Department is seeking a technician for service of medical-technical equipment at Aarhus University Hospital, starting January 1, 2027.

You will become part of an experienced team of technicians who work with service and operational advisory of medical-technical equipment. Your tasks will vary from urgent and planned operational tasks to project tasks with advisory and implementation of new equipment with a main focus on annual maintenance of ventilators and defibrillators. The tasks are carried out in close cooperation with our engineers and the clinical staff at Aarhus University Hospital.

It is a dynamic environment where things often move quickly. You must therefore be ready to work in various hospital departments, where urgent tasks and treatments may take priority over planned maintenance.

When you are not out on hospital departments, you will have a base at our medical-technical workshop at Aarhus University Hospital, where you will become part of a team of about 25 highly skilled technicians.

Your tasks include

  • annual preventive maintenance of about 100 ventilators
  • annual preventive maintenance of about 150 defibrillators
  • repair/maintenance of medical-technical equipment with focus on defibrillators and the respiratory area
  • registration of equipment and handling of service reports
  • advising on replacement plans
  • procurement and implementation of new equipment
  • contribution to the workshop's general 1st line operation of the medical-technical apparatus

We are looking for someone who is

  • outgoing and curious with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • good at planning and coordinating with clinical departments
  • skilled at communicating and adapting to different work cultures
  • independent and able to make quick decisions

It is a prerequisite that you have a driving license (B) and a car available, as some of the tasks must be performed at other hospitals and ambulance bases in the region.

Strong opportunities for professional development, courses and further education

You must be trained as an electronics technician or electronic technician and preferably have experience with service of medical-technical equipment. If you do not have it, you can gain your experience with us. Experience from a hospital environment is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Since our area of work is highly specialized, we welcome you with a thorough induction program. In addition, we offer ongoing continuing education in the field, and we expect that you will be eager to participate in it.

We offer a position where you have the opportunity to

  • further develop yourself as a technician
  • gain specialist knowledge within the area of respiration as well as defibrillators
  • gain broad familiarity with the entire medical-technical equipment park
  • work closely with and gain deep insight into the hospital environment
  • gain knowledge of service economics and reporting
  • take on professional and personal challenges in an exciting and informal clinical/medical-technical environment
  • have interesting and developing tasks
  • participate in courses and education programs domestically and abroad

We highly value humor, well-being and an open tone among engaged colleagues. The same goes for flexibility, which is why we offer a flextime arrangement that makes it easier to combine work and leisure. In addition, we have a good pension scheme.

Salary and employment terms

The primary workplace is the Purchasing & Medical Technology workshop at Aarhus University Hospital, Palle Juul-Jensens Boulevard 99, 8200 Aarhus N.

Your salary and employment terms are determined in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. The salary consists of a base salary possibly supplemented with functional and/or qualification allowances, which are determined based on the content of the position and your competences, experience and qualifications.

The position is a permanent full-time position of 37 hours excluding the lunch break. There is a flextime arrangement.

The position is desired to be filled on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible.
