Technical service employee/caretaker assistant at Spjald School and Helhed

Spjald School and Helhed seeks a skilled and engaged maintenance assistant in a 37-hour position. The primary workplace/office is at the school, and there is approx. one day per week in the kindergarten. We want the new maintenance assistant to start the position on 1 January 2027.

At Spjald School and Helhed, one of the municipality's three special centres – Special Centre East – is attached to us, and we also have after‑school care/club as well as a kindergarten and day care.

We are seeking a maintenance worker/janitor’s assistant, who

• has practical experience and good craftsmanship skills – preferably with a trades education
• takes pride in ensuring the school, after‑school care/club and kindergarten present themselves well and are well maintained
• has a broad range. Someone who can swing a paintbrush, trim hedges, weed a bed, empty trash bins, mop floors, clean a toilet, repair a bicycle, a door, a faucet, etc.
• is friendly and cooperative in carrying out the many different tasks a janitor’s assistant at a school will be involved in
• can enter into constructive collaboration with the technical service manager and the rest of the staff at the school
• has a flair for solving practical tasks related to the school's buildings, outdoor areas and other service functions
• can independently plan and carry out work tasks
• is sociable, empathetic and initiative-taking
• is responsible, independent, structured and has a professional overview
• who wants to be an active team player in Helhed's everyday life
• enjoys children, lots of life and sometimes unpredictability

The Helhed premises are newly renovated and up-to-date in relation to technology and learning environments. We are located close to green areas and a sports centre with a swimming pool. We have a parent group interested in their children's well-being and development.

The school has about 320 pupils and a total staff of just over 50. The kindergarten has about 70 children and a total staff of 13.

A driving license is a necessity for errands driving.

Your working hours are in principle arranged in the period from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., but evening work will also occur as well as on-call in case of urgent building damage.
