About the job

We are seeking a physiotherapist for a fixed-term position in the Neurological-Geriatric team, until 31/12/2026.

We are looking for a physiotherapist who can join our Neurological and Geriatric physiotherapy specialist group. This means you should be able to handle physiotherapy tasks for primarily geriatric patients and secondarily for neurological patients.

The group provides physiotherapy in two geriatric medical wards and one neurological ward. Your focus will be on the geriatric wards, unless you bring solid neurological experience.

In the geriatric departments we mainly encounter patients with hip-related fractures and general geriatric illnesses. You must be able to assess patients' current condition, compare it with their habitual state, draw relevant conclusions, lay out a short- and long-term treatment plan, including preparing a relevant rehabilitation plan or other plan for the patient and the subsequent course after discharge.

Physiotherapy at Midt- and Vestsjællands Hospital, Slagelse

We are 50 employees, including 4 specialist physiotherapists, 1 project physiotherapist in psychiatry, 2 clinical instructors, 2 SSA, 2 secretaries, 1 deputy head and 1 senior physiotherapist. We are a dynamic department with a focus on professionalism, sparring, development and well-being. To ensure quality and high professionalism, we continuously work on competence development, teaching, skill stations and simulation.

We place high importance on the working environment and well-being. We value diversity and humor, while seeking meaningful challenges and providing relevant support. We actively use collegial sparring and support each other across specialties. We are good at establishing development projects and processes to improve and optimize our patient pathways, which gives our staff a rich, exciting and challenging daily life.

Management has trust in the physiotherapists and strives for employee involvement, shows responsiveness and is accessible.

We emphasize that you have strong physiotherapeutic competencies in patient assessment, that you can make decisions, and that you have a pronounced sense of collaboration with the patient, relatives, interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral partners. Multidisciplinary work is highly valued, as patient pathways require close cooperation with doctors, nursing staff and our occupational therapy colleagues to ensure the best possible quality: We have the patient in focus!

As we work at an acute hospital, daily life will be dynamic. We plan, prioritize and structure to the greatest extent possible, but we depend on us working well together and being willing to go the extra mile for the patient and our colleagues.

We are a teaching hospital for many physiotherapy students. We have clinical instructors, but all physiotherapy participates in the collaboration to educate future physiotherapists.

We are busy and there are many tasks, so you must be good at prioritizing and acting in a complex patient care environment.

You will of course receive a good introduction to your tasks, the hospital, workflows and your new collaborators. During the introduction period you will be assigned a mentor.

Competences that will be given high priority

  • Hospital experience
  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability
  • Experience in working with documentation in Sundhedsplatformen

Application deadline is set to 30/10, but note that the position is with earliest possible start. We call for interviews on an ongoing basis and employment will take place when a suitable applicant is found.

Region Zealand and Region Capital will become Region Østdanmark on 1 January 2027 due to the healthcare reform. Your employment area will be Region Østdanmark with all associated organizational units.
