Temporary teaching position at Dybkær Special School

Are you a qualified teacher and would you like to work with students with special needs?

We are looking for a teacher as soon as possible for a fixed-term assignment. The position is a full-time role in our Youth Department, 7th-10th grade.

Dybkær Special School is Silkeborg Municipality's educational and leisure provision for children and young people with severe general learning difficulties. The school receives students from Silkeborg and the surrounding municipalities. There are about 135 students at the school.

The students' learning difficulties are generally general in nature, and a large part of the children have complex disabilities, which require understanding of, for example, the use of alternative communication strategies.

Educational basis

”It is the central task of Dybkær Special School to help strengthen and develop the students academically, socially and personally. Dybkær Special School should constitute an educational framework around the students' formation and education, so that each student in the school's everyday life experiences competence for life as a human being and a citizen. When a student attends the school, they can expect to be met with recognition and respect.

The student is naturally included in communities and meets a safe and structured daily life. Teachers and pedagogues design and plan, in collaboration, a meaningful daily life for the student, based on the individual's prerequisites and needs.

The close interdisciplinary collaboration between pedagogues, teachers, assistants and other staff helps to ensure the best conditions for the students' academic, social and personal development. Learning thus takes place at different levels and in different situations throughout the student's day”.

Your profile

• Is a qualified teacher
• Delights in and has the competence to plan, implement, and evaluate teaching for the target group.
• Has experience with, or a desire to work in special education.
• Has experience with – or a desire to acquire knowledge about – alternative communication forms (including ICT-based communication aids, sign language, picture symbols, etc.).
• Willing and passionate about teaching in a cross-disciplinary team.
• Can provide personal care for children and young people with extensive disabilities.
