In the health and care places you will meet citizens who need more time, training, treatment, support and rehabilitation before they are ready to move on.

The citizens may have complex somatic and medical issues, reduced functioning and several concurrent diseases. Your professional assessment, rehabilitative approach and ability to see the whole person will therefore be decisive.

You will have a daily life where you work independently and at the same time closely with other professions around the citizen.

The position is full-time with start as soon as possible.

Your tasks

As an occupational therapist you will be a central part of the citizen’s progression. You will among other things

• conduct occupational therapy assessments and evaluations
• work with ADL- and activity training
• support the citizen’s regain of function and independence
• assess needs for assistive devices and compensatory strategies
• plan, implement and evaluate rehabilitation interventions
• identify changes in the citizen’s functioning and act on them
• collaborate with citizens, relatives and partners
• work closely with nurses, social and health care assistants as well as physiotherapists
• create continuity in the citizen’s journey
• contribute to the development and implementation of new work routines.

As a consequence of the Health Reform, Varde Municipality’s 24-hour rehabilitation will transition to the regions

1 January 2027 .

At Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospitals the new clinical department Citizen-centered Health is under construction. The department will, among other things, accommodate health and care places and aims to create a closer, more cohesive and equitable health system.

You will be employed at the Varde Municipality’s Center for Training and Rehabilitation with tasks at 24-hour rehabilitation until 1 January 2027, after which your employment will transfer to the region.

Your starting point

Until 1 January 2027 you will be part of Varde Municipality’s Center for Training and Rehabilitation connected to 24-hour rehabilitation , which currently has 20 rehabilitative places.

Here we primarily receive citizens from the hospital for courses that can last from one week to several months. The citizens have various somatic and medical issues and need rehabilitation to again manage everyday life and achieve a meaningful everyday life.
