About the job
Would you like to try volunteering, events and project work in an ambitious NGO that works with important agendas such as promoting cycling, public health and green transition? Become an intern with us in the spring semester 2027.
We can offer an internship for you who want experience with a wide range of tasks in a nationwide civil society organization.
You will, among other things, get experience with our volunteer efforts, where the bicycle is the focal point for meaningful communities, and with events and campaigns, all of which have the bicycle as a lever for a healthier, more enjoyable and more sustainable world.
You will gain experience with how a civil society organization works with development, planning and implementation of volunteer projects and campaigns, and you will become an important part of a small secretariat where we take responsibility and help each other with big and small things.
Your tasks may include
- Contribute to recruiting, motivating and supporting volunteers so they have the best possible framework to succeed
- Contact partners such as schools, institutions and municipalities
- Coordination and delivery of meetings, workshops and events
- Support for, among other things, communication in connection with various campaigns
- Contribute to knowledge gathering and documentation, dissemination and evaluation
You will work closely with our skilled project managers, and we will tailor an internship program that fits the interests and competencies you bring with you.
About you
You are a student in a higher education program – e.g., in social sciences, health sciences, sociology, anthropology, ethnology or similar. You:
- Are willing to pick up the phone and speak with many different people
- Are a skilled communicator who writes well and fluently in Danish
- Are proactive, work independently and can plan and manage your own time
- Want to contribute to the collaboration and the social community in the secretariat
- Do not need to know a lot about cycling, but want to expand your knowledge of Danish cycling culture
About us
We are Denmark's largest organization in the cycling sector. We offer friendly colleagues, a good atmosphere and an informal tone, and we talk about much more than bikes when we have lunch!
The secretariat of the Danish Cyclists’ Union (Cyklistforbundet) is located in Rømersgade right next to Torvehallerne/Nørreport. You will join our total staff of about 20 employees, and you will have an experienced project manager as your internship supervisor.
The internship is 30-37 hours per week and runs during the Spring semester 2027. The number of hours and the exact internship period can be agreed upon in more detail to fit with your study program and requirements. The internship is unpaid, as it is expected that your educational institution recognizes the placement as credit-bearing.
We look forward to receiving your application

About the Danish Cyclists' Union
With the bicycle we can create a greener, healthier and more climate-friendly Denmark. We advocate for better and safer conditions for cyclists and for as many people as possible to choose the bicycle as their everyday means of transport. We back nationwide campaigns such as All Children Ride and WE CYCLE TO WORK. We support companies, municipalities and regions in working targeted and ambitiously with cycling promotion. We work politically for more bicycle-friendly decisions at local, regional and national levels. We have about 11,000 members and local branches in most parts of Denmark.
