About the job
Can you break down complex issues into clear and action-oriented messages, and are you motivated by challenges and meaningful work? The Defence is undergoing an exciting development, where changes in the threat landscape and new technologies are increasingly demanding digital resilience and leadership priorities. We operate in a complex subject area within a complex organization, and we need a colleague who can set the direction for how we can make it easier for the various roles to have a security-conscious behavior.
About the section and our tasks
In the section we work from the starting point of risk and materiality principles with a focus on ensuring that the efforts reflect the effects. We therefore need the frameworks and guidelines to live at the operational level and continually adapt to changes in core tasks. After a recent reorganization of the security area, the section for Cyber and Information Security and Data Protection has moved closer to core tasks.
This means that we are in the process of settling into a new part of the organization, while at the same time we have been given a unique opportunity to evaluate past experiences and improve the effort going forward. The task therefore requires that you can see yourself landing in a period of major changes and find pragmatic solutions in a context characterized by change.
About the position
As our new colleague you will become part of the Defence Command’s section for Cyber and Information Security and Data Protection. The section is the framework for the overall compliance with ISO 27001 in the Defence Ministry’s group and our focus is centered on core tasks, the operational work and the society-critical assets that support this. We are seeking a profile with experience in translating complex subject areas into a language that can be understood in the business.
You should have experience with cyber and information security but your professional weight lies in communication, change management, behavior design or similar.
Role and responsibilities
As our upcoming specialist you should have knowledge of how governance documents are translated into action. If you do not yet have knowledge about the Defence’s core tasks, you must be curious and have the courage to put in a large effort to learn the organization. You must be proactive and able to translate the knowledge you gain about the organization into communication products that contribute to security becoming a natural part of core tasks.
Specifically, we are looking for a specialist who can work with several of the following
- Breakdown of guidelines and requirements into operational role descriptions with focus on the target group
- Development of training materials targeted at different roles
- Development of concepts for management reporting targeted at management levels
- Implementation of joint awareness campaigns within cyber and information security in the Defence.
- Coordination and facilitation of cross-cutting collaboration fora regarding education and awareness, including handling, participation and contributions to group-wide working groups.
Limited travel activity within the Kingdom should be expected, as the section has offices in both Copenhagen and Karup and provides advice to all Defence authorities.
Your profile
Cyber and information security is a complex area of work that encompasses all parts of the Defence and is in constant change. We are looking for a candidate with high professional competence and good collaboration skills who can bridge between a complex field and the business.
We would like you to have a background in IT project management, change management, management reporting, communication as well as information security and awareness
Emphasis on
- Be strong in written products, and able to present complex issues in a language that employees and management without special knowledge of the area can understand
- Have experience from larger organizations and preferably from a public authority
- Have an agile mindset and can collaborate with different professional fields
- Can maintain direction and professionalism in an organization with changing priorities and continually adapt own tasks to the strategic direction
- Familiarity with the Defence is an advantage but not a requirement.
Different professional perspectives or educational backgrounds are considered a strength.
Employment terms
The employment is in accordance with the currently applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academics Collective Agreement).
Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is the possibility of negotiating supplements. There is an employer-funded pension scheme attached to the position.
The workplace is in Copenhagen.
As an employee under the Defence Ministry’s area you are subject to some special terms. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment.
You have as an employee the duty to perform service outside the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, humanitarian and other similar operations.
Contact and application
If you want to hear more about the position, you are welcome to contact Office Manager Peter Krüger at phone 5132 0878.
If you have questions about salary and employment terms you are welcome to contact the Personnel Command, HR consultant Sofie Mikkelsen at phone 3071 3397.
The application deadline is 1 November 2026 and interviews are expected to be held on an ongoing basis. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
You apply for the position via the link, and we ask you to attach the application, CV and copies of your educational certificates. Please note that attachments must be added in PDF format.
In the Defence Ministry’s organization we believe that diversity optimizes task solving. Therefore we encourage all interested regardless of background to apply for the position.
