About the job
Do you want to help make a difference for the climate, one case at a time?
Every tonne of CO₂ not emitted counts and makes a difference for the climate. In the Energy Agency's quota administration, we work with reducing greenhouse gases and with one of the most effective climate instruments there is: the EU Emissions Trading System.
Here, emissions of greenhouse gases from industry, energy production, aviation, shipping and fuels are monitored and assessed, and companies must, in addition to keeping accounts for each ton, also implement measures that reduce emissions.
It is us who monitor and ensure that this happens in Denmark. Now we are looking for a technician who will use their professional skills to make a concrete and measurable difference for the climate.
Your work makes a difference, also when it comes to data With us there is a direct line from your desk to the climate balance sheet. When you review a company’s submission, quality assure data or advise a company on how emissions should be calculated, you help ensure that the quota system works as intended and that the green transition happens on a solid professional basis.
We can offer work with significance, both in Denmark and globally. In the office we, among other things, have the responsibility for issuing emission permits, allocating free quotas and administering the quota system for a large number of covered companies. You will also be tasked with following up on whether a company complies with the rules in the area.
You can see more about the EU’s quota system in the EU’s presentation video here .
This is what you will work with
- Case handling with climate impact: You process and assess companies' submissions and guide them in, among other things, the EU's reporting systems and the legislation for the different areas, all in close collaboration with lawyers and administrative colleagues.
- Data that keeps going: You are responsible for data handling, quality assurance and various ad hoc tasks that keep the day-to-day operations running.
- Development of the future quota administration: You participate in projects where we digitalize, optimize workflows and standardize processes so we can keep up as climate instruments and the green transition evolve.
- Guiding the outside world: You help guide companies, both in writing, but also through meetings, webinars and presentations.
- Climate work at the European level: You represent Denmark at professional meetings within the EU, where you discuss and develop the quota arrangements together with professionals from other EU countries and the European Commission. Here you contribute Danish experiences and bring back new knowledge.
A team that moves forward together We are a department with a strong team spirit. We help each other across tasks, and we step in where the need is greatest. It provides variety in daily life and colleagues who are always ready to spar, and who challenge each other with respect for the different areas of expertise.
You will have a manager who prioritizes wellbeing and development, as well as good conditions to make work and leisure fit together. In addition we have an active staff association, a number of employee benefits and professional events.
Is it you?
- You have a technical education as an engineer, marine engineer, energy technologist or similar, preferably with experience from one or more of our areas of work.
- You are professionally strong and communicate clearly, especially in writing, but also orally.
- You see your profession as part of a whole, where technology, law and political aims play together. Perhaps you have experience from a politically led organization or public administration.
- You can work independently and with others, and you can balance quality with progress.
- You are willing and able to build good collaborative relationships with companies, colleagues at the Energy Agency, the ministry and other authorities.
