The Gårdene Residential Care Facility in the Developmental Disabilities Special Area seeks a pedagogical assistant trainee to start in the main program on 11 January 2027 at Randers Social and Health School.

Then an apprenticeship at Gårdene in the Special Area of Developmental Disabilities (SUA) may be the right fit for you.

With us you are not ’just’ an apprentice – you are an active part of everyday life and the community, where together we contribute to supporting the citizen in living out wishes, hopes and dreams based on the citizen's resources. As a special area, it is our task to help citizens who have complex support needs and require a specialized offering. Therefore you will experience a high level of professionalism in the task solution, and you will be professionally equipped.

Who are you?

We are looking for an apprentice who is curious about the field and motivated to learn both in practice and in education. You do not need to know everything in advance – the most important is that you want to develop yourself.

• Have a desire for collaboration, dialogue and relational work.
• Can take responsibility for your own learning and actively participate in both training and teaching.
• Are open, engaged and have respect for diversity.

About the education and the formal requirements

To start the main program for the pedagogical assistant, you must

• Have passed Foundation Course 2 for the pedagogical assistant education.
• Have an education plan prepared by the school where you completed Foundation Course 2.

Who are we in SUA and at Gårdene?

SUA is the Region Midtjylland's combined offering to adults with developmental disabilities. We are committed to delivering and developing interventions for adults with complex issues, which based on the citizen's resources create development toward increased well-being and independence.

The Special Area of Developmental Disabilities has around-the-clock care at several sites in Region Midtjylland. The overall target group is the same, but our round-the-clock care is specialized within different areas of the common target group.

At Gårdene we have room for 18 citizens, all living with a developmental disability, often combined with other challenges such as psychiatric diagnoses, substance abuse, criminal history or behavior that threatens safety. We are located in Paderup in Randers South on a large green area with a sports field, a bonfire area and space for outdoor work and activities.

Our mission is to create interventions that can be stepping stones in the citizens' lives toward increased independence. It requires a high degree of professionalism, structure and perseverance, but also plenty of presence, humor and warmth in everyday life.

For us it is important that there is room for both individual wishes and a strong sense of community. We place emphasis on creating a working environment where we help each other, share knowledge and focus on the common core task: to give the citizens the best possible opportunities for development and well-being.

Employment and school

Employment is 37 hours with rotating shifts and weekend shifts. We work with flexible shift planning. You should be aware of your travel time to your training site.

During the education you will alternate between school stays and on-the-job training. The school periods take place at Randers Social and Health School. When you are in training, you will have a training supervisor, who is your professional supervisor and contact person throughout your training.

Salary, vacation and terms of employment

You will receive salary during the entire main part of the education and holiday pay according to the applicable collective agreement. The apprentice education is covered by the collective agreement for pedagogical assistants and pedagogical aides.

• Apprentice salary: approx. 12,800 DKK per month
• Adult apprentice salary (over 25 years): approx. 24,700 DKK per month

The salary is adjusted annually according to the applicable collective agreement.

There is a full-time main program beginning on January 11, 2027.

When employed, a criminal record check will be obtained.
