About the job
Would you like to contribute to strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure and make Danish society more robust and secure in light of the serious threat and risk landscape? And would you like to work with complex issues at the intersection of professional expertise, politics and international relations?
The Ministry of Civil Protection and Emergency Management is seeking a dedicated caseworker for the Office of Critical Infrastructure.
About the Ministry of Civil Protection and Emergency Management
The Ministry of Civil Protection and Emergency Management, in close collaboration with the responsible sectors, is responsible for preventing, resisting and handling major accidents, crises, disasters and other events that challenge the fundamental functions of society – whether it is a cyberattack, sabotage, espionage or extreme weather events. The aim is to align preparedness, crisis management and resilience across sectors so that our society is stronger – both in everyday life and during crises.
The ministry comprises the department and two professional agencies: the Danish Security and Crisis Management Agency and the Emergency Management Agency.
Your role and your tasks
As a caseworker in the Office of Critical Infrastructure you will be part of a professionally strong office that works with cross-cutting protection of physical critical infrastructure in Denmark, including critical underwater infrastructure, collaboration with industry on societal security and preparedness, and a number of the ministry’s international cases.
The office works with cases across the EU, NATO and Nordic cooperation. You will therefore have the opportunity to work with both national and international issues in a field that is rapidly developing.
The tasks are tailored to your competences, experiences and interests. You will among other things be able to work with:
- Ministerial servicing, including the preparation of decision proposals, memos and other materials.
- Case handling and coordination of complex cases, e.g. government cases, across authorities and sectors.
- International cases, including e.g. EU, NATO and Nordic cooperation.
- Contributions to legislative work, political agreements and implementation of new initiatives and EU rules.
- Collaboration with relevant authorities, organizations and businesses on the protection of critical infrastructure.
- Other tasks that support the office’s overall workload.
About you
You have a relevant academic degree, e.g. cand.jur., cand.scient.pol., cand.polit. or another relevant social science degree. We would like you to have experience with case processing – preferably from a ministry or another part of the central administration.
In addition, we emphasize that you
- Are a good colleague who actively contributes to a good working environment and takes responsibility for joint tasks.
- Are professionally strong, curious and eager to engage with complex problems and translate them into concrete decision proposals.
- Work in a structured and independent manner while also recognizing when a case requires coordination or sparring.
- Have good collaboration skills and thrive in working with colleagues across offices, authorities and sectors.
- Know or are willing to learn about societal security and preparedness.
- Can maintain an overview and deliver high quality, even when pace is high and deadlines are tight.
Conditions of employment
Employment and pay are in accordance with the current collective agreement between the state and the Danish Confederation of Trade Unions (AC collective agreement), and placement will generally be as a legal adviser. With the right profile, placement can be as a senior consultant or chief consultant.
The position is full-time.
