About the job
Idrætsprojektet – a cross-disciplinary and co-led organization
Idrætsprojektet is located in the Center for Children and Youth and is part of the Social Administration (SOF) in the City of Copenhagen. It is a cross-disciplinary and co-led organization, where we are approximately 120 full-time employees. We are primarily pedagogues, teachers, social workers, candidates in pedagogy, psychology and sports, as well as craftsmen.
We lead through trust, and decisions are made by those who are closest to the task at hand – you must therefore thrive with a higher degree of responsibility and independence. The organization consists of 11 co-led coaching teams, which collaborate with children and young people to bridge them into and retain them in positive communities at school, in leisure life and in leisure jobs.
A common thread for everyone in Idrætsprojektet is that we are passionate about making a difference for children and young people in vulnerable positions. Everyone works from Idrætsprojektet's value-based method, which is the shared professional foundation on which all Idrætsprojektet's initiatives are built.
Idrætsprojektets målgruppe og indsatser
Idrætsprojektet collaborates with children and young people aged 3-18 years (young support up to 23 years), who are in vulnerable positions, children and young people who are on the way out of positive communities in the family, school and leisure life, or who are already outside the positive communities, and who may be at risk of outbursts, inward aggression, crime-related issues and/or experiencing psychological difficulties.
We offer interventions for individual children and young people, where the goal is to bridge and retain them in positive communities, and for groups of children and young people, where the goal is to build and sustain diverse, inclusive and fun communities in schools, institutions and local areas.
We work so that all the city’s children and young people are part of positive communities with strong and lasting relationships, and that they experience that they are competent and meaningful to others in the communities they participate in. We also work so that they have good self-esteem and feel that they have the power to act themselves and create positive changes in their own lives, so that they eventually obtain an education, a job and a good and independent life. We are flexible with place and time.
We carry out place-based social-pedagogical interventions and work where children, young people and their families live, go to school, etc., because that is where they need to live and use their competencies when they no longer need to collaborate with us. We start right away, we never cancel, and we work from early morning to late evening, i.e., we are available from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on all weekdays.
Om stillingen – dit ansvar og dine muligheder
We are seeking two psychology-focused colleagues who want to make a concrete and lasting difference for children and young people in vulnerable positions – with a particular focus on enhancing the SkoleflexPLUS initiative in Copenhagen's public schools. The primary task will be to ensure that there is a clear and meaningful link between the children's or young people's challenges and to plan the treatment work in the concrete interventions we offer in Idrætsprojektet.
You must both be a professional sparring partner for our trainers and ensure the cross-disciplinary collaboration between school, administration and Idrætsprojektet. Your working hours will primarily (80%) be spent on the following tasks:
- Develop and follow up BUF-SOF intervention plans:
You ensure that each plan reflects the child’s overall needs and development goals – in close cooperation with the school, authorities and our trainers – and ensure alignment with Idrætsprojektet’s internal practice and documentation
- Link pedagogical and psychology perspectives:
You qualify the children’s and young people’s focus goals and contribute to evaluation and adjustment of the interventions
- Actively participate in the cross-disciplinary collaboration:
You contribute to the collaboration with PPR, schools and other actors, so that together we create the best possible holistic effort around the child
- Support trainers in their pedagogical work:
Through professional sparring and support for documentation tasks.
In addition, we expect that a smaller portion of the working time (20%) is used on
- Develop methods:
You contribute to developing and describing Idrætsprojektet’s methods and ensure the communication of psychology-related knowledge to both internal and external partners
- Support and develop the professional level in the organization:
You offer supervision, professional sparring and method development to continually improve the quality of our work
- Internal meetings and development work:
You meet with your psychology partner for sparring and development of the initiative, including professional inputs such as workshops and podcasts for the entire Idrætsprojektet
We are looking for a colleague who not only sees the child in isolation but also in the community and everyday life in which the child must function. You must be able to think systemically, be action-oriented and want to turn theory into practice – together with dedicated colleagues who every day make a difference in the lives of children and young people.
We are seeking a new colleague who
- Has a psychology-related education such as can.psych. or can.ped. psych., possibly with PPR specialization and a minimum of two years’ experience working with children and young people
- Believes that children and young people do well when they can
- Believes that when children and young people struggle, solutions often have to be found in the environment around the child
- Has experience with pedagogical-psychological practice
- Has a view of children that matches ours
- Has knowledge of our fundamental methods: Low Arousal, LØFT, activity pedagogy and trauma-informed pedagogy
- Has experience working across disciplines and believes that the best solutions are developed cross-disciplinary and in collaboration with colleagues, citizens and the many external partners
- Is a good communicator, both in writing and verbally, who can help document, spar and convey complex psychology-related and practice-based knowledge about young people’s individual support needs and treatment strategies to your colleagues
We can offer
- An organization that believes children find their way back to development and well-being best in a community with others
- An organization characterized by solidarity and professionalism
- A large team of highly engaged and competent trainers who work in co-led teams
- A workforce where engagement, professionalism and a good humorous tone are central
- Opportunity to make a clear difference for all children, young people and their families in Idrætsprojektet
- Opportunity to collaborate with many different partners and continuously contribute to qualifying Idrætsprojektet’s interventions and develop new ones
- A psychology professional network and the possibility of supervision across the Center for Children and Youth
Salary and employment terms
The position is a permanent full-time role of 37 hours per week, and we expect you to start on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. Salary and employment terms in accordance with applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation. Criminal background and child protection checks will be obtained, and extended references will be taken in connection with the recruitment process. Your primary workplace will be at Nørrebrohallen, but you should expect several trips on Copenhagen’s bike lanes, as we are a city-wide offering.
