On-call substitutes for the Handicap area - Join to make a professional and human difference.

We are looking for you who would like to become part of the Handicap area in Brønderslev Municipality and contribute to a meaningful everyday life for our citizens.

As an on-call substitute you are not just an extra pair of hands or someone who has to be with the citizens. You become part of the pedagogical effort, where your task is to support each citizen's development, mastery, self-determination and life potential .

We work from a basic understanding that all people have faith, hope and dreams , and that our professional task is to create the best possible conditions for the individual citizen to unfold their potential and live as independent, meaningful and dignified a life as possible.

We primarily seek on-call substitutes for Brandur Allé 5 and 11 , where you become part of a professional community around the citizens. As an on-call substitute you can after agreement also be affiliated with other residential facilities or groups in the Handicap area.

Target group

The Handicap area consists of six round-the-clock residential facilities in Dronninglund, Brønderslev and Stenum: Nordstjernen, Sirius, Brandur Allé 5 and 11, Lundagervej and Stenumgård.

The target group at Brandur Allé consists of adult citizens over 18 years with significant and permanent reduced physical and/or mental functional ability. The facilities are aimed at citizens with developmental disabilities and other permanent functional impairments, which entail an extensive need for support and assistance around the clock.

Citizens may have cognitive, communicative, social, sensory or mental health challenges, including issues related to developmental disability, autism spectrum and general mental vulnerability.

As an on-call substitute you become part of a professional community

Daily tasks can include

• To support citizens' participation in activities and communities
• To help create structure, predictability and meaningful frames in the citizens' everyday life
• To observe, document and forward relevant professional observations
• Personal care and hygiene
• To support citizens in daily chores such as bathing, dressing, meals, shopping and medication management
• To accompany and support citizens to activities such as swimming pool, riding and bowling
• Lighter cooking together with the citizens
• Walks and bike rides, read aloud, gymnastics, games, song and music

About you

We are looking for you who

Want – and preferably have experience with – working with citizens with different disabilities and support needs

Are curious about the citizens' perspectives and see opportunities rather than limitations

Are prepared to work at all times of the day and all days of the week, including day, evening, weekend and holidays

Can accommodate and handle different forms of behavior with calm, care and professional awareness

Are generous, present and relation-oriented in interactions with the citizens

Have a driving license

Agree that as an on-call substitute you are typically summoned for shifts when there is a need to cover, for example during holidays, illness or other absence among the regular staff

We expect of you

That you can work independently and at the same time actively contribute to the community

That you work with a development-oriented perspective on the citizens and have sight for their resources, wishes and potential

That you can see yourself as an active co-player in the work of supporting the citizens' faith, hope and dreams
