Tree Care/Forest and Nature Technician for Park and Road in Lolland Municipality (Repost)

Are you a forestry and nature technician, arborist, or an experienced forest worker who enjoys practical work and has a good sense of service and collaboration? Then you might be the one we are looking for to our forestry team in Park and Road.

In Park and Road we work with the operation and maintenance of roads, waterways, parks, green areas and municipal institutions. We are now seeking an operations employee for our Forestry Team, responsible for the care of the municipality's urban and roadside trees as well as cops and small forests. You will be part of a small, experienced team where responsibility, cooperation and professionalism go hand in hand.

Your everyday life with us

You will become part of a team of three people who handle most larger pruning and felling tasks around the entire municipality. The team has access to a tractor with a forestry trailer, their own 22-meter lifting truck (3,500 kg) as well as a company car and the necessary equipment.

You will work both independently as part of the team and in close cooperation with the other colleagues in Park and Road. Biodiversity is an important focus area for us, and felled trees and brush are often left in the area or collected into brush piles to benefit insects and wildlife – when conditions allow. Alternatively, the material is used for wood chip production.

During the summer months there will be quite a bit of hedge trimming with a mini-tractor and arm hedge cutter, watering of our newly planted trees and other green operational tasks, all depending on competencies and needs.

Your main tasks

• Pruning of urban and roadside trees
• Selective thinning of edge plantings, cops and small forests
• Task management and coordination within the team
• General green operation tasks
• Collaboration with colleagues and external partners

About you

We imagine that you

• Are educated as a forestry and nature technician or have equivalent experience
• Are proficient user of a chainsaw
• Are approachable, service-minded and enjoy contact with citizens
• Work well in teams, but can also work independently and in a structured way
• Hold a driving license for passenger cars
• Have knowledge of common IT programs such as email, GIS, task management and apps

It is a plus if you

• Have broad experience with tree care and operation of edge plantings and forests
• Have experience working from a lift and/or tree climbing
• Have knowledge of handling and supervision of “Risk/Attention trees”
• Have knowledge of veteran trees and biodiversity initiatives
• Are European Tree Worker certified

The sector solves tasks within the operation of properties, canteens, harbors and ferries as well as facilities and construction. Park and Road is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's roads, facilities and green areas for the benefit of citizens and business life. We work every day across specializations to ensure well-functioning infrastructure, green areas and safe surroundings.

• 1,425 km of roads

You will have about 90 colleagues in Park and Road and a further 110–120 colleagues in Properties and Facilities.

Salary and terms of employment

Employment as soon as possible.

The salary range for skilled worker for 37 hours is from 28,000 to 37,000 DKK / month. In addition, there is 15.00% pension and 0.22% in optional flex scheme. The final salary placement will be made according to the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local salary formation.
