At Troldehaven we are seeking a department head who will be close to the children and staff and help me develop our daycare center. We have around 130 children in the infant and preschool groups and are part of Vordingborg Municipality.

About me and the ambitions for Troldehaven

My name is Louise and I am the head of day care. My ambition is a daycare center where all children experience the joy of playing, exploring and belonging to a community.

We must be curious about their perspectives and create a framework where they can participate in different ways. This requires that we use our professional expertise, examine our practice and adapt it to the children.

I also want a house where we help each other across groups and share both knowledge and good experiences. Where there is room for questions, new ideas and honest conversations, so we become wiser together.

As our upcoming department head you will have an important role in this work. I look forward to hearing your perspectives and finding solutions together with you and our colleagues. You can expect a leader who listens, is clear about expectations and prioritizes our collaboration.

What you will be part of

You will report to me as the daycare manager. I have the management and personnel responsibility, and we will agree your areas of responsibility and your latitude so you have a good start to work independently.

Your tasks will mainly be

To create coherence in everyday life

You lead and allocate the daily work and plan staffing, vacations, absence and meetings across the house. Here you will need your experience with schedule planning and working time rules, both in the long-term plan and when something changes.

To support colleagues in their work

You provide professional sparring, facilitate staff meetings and help new employees settle in well. You are close to practice and can bring questions and observations to our collective discussions.

To contribute to the pedagogical development

We base our work on Vordingborg Municipality's quality strategy for day care 2026–2029 and use KIDS in the work with quality. You support employees' observations and professional reflection and help translate our goals into concrete changes in daily life. Together we follow up on what the interventions mean for the children. You also participate in parent-teacher conversations and interdisciplinary collaboration.

To make the documentation usable

You support me and the staff with minutes and administrative tasks. You write clearly and professionally, distinguish between observations, statements and assessments and make agreements and follow-ups clearly visible. You thrive on documentation and ensure that the material is correctly registered and handled in various systems.

You participate in the work with the children. The balance between practice and department head tasks can vary from week to week and is planned according to tasks and the house's resources.

Troldehaven has extended opening hours from 05:45 to 19:00. You must therefore be able to take both early and late shifts. Your working hours are planned within the opening hours with regard to your tasks and the needs of the house.

We hope you bring

You are a trained pedagogue with solid experience, preferably from day care. You are proficient with schedule planning and working time rules, have strong written skills and experience with administrative tasks.

You have an eye for both people and organization. You can keep an overview, follow agreements to the letter and meet others respectfully, even when you see a situation differently. You understand the common frameworks and decisions we operate within as a municipal daycare center.

We provide an introduction to the house, the systems and the tasks. With regular sparring conversations we create time to discuss everyday life and follow your development in the role.
