Safe and calm support for a young person in Høng

About the task

We are seeking support for a 20-year-old person who lives with their family. The person has autism, ADHD and anxiety and becomes quickly overwhelmed, especially when there are many people or unforeseen situations arise.

The person needs support in everyday life, including practical tasks, self-care and basic needs. This means that you must be attentive to when support is needed and be able to help in a calm and respectful way.

When the family is out of the house, your most important task is to be a safe and calm presence in the home. The person cannot be alone at home and needs to know that there is an adult present who can help if something becomes overwhelming or unforeseen arises. Therefore, you must be able to create a calm and predictable framework without pushing for interaction.

The person may need support to handle small and large situations in daily life and to find calm if they become overwhelmed. The interaction can take place on the person's terms, and there will be days where it is primarily about you being present and available.

The person enjoys knitting and crocheting, and when it feels safe, you can also take small trips, e.g., to yarn stores.

Please note that there are cats in the home.

About you

You are trained as a pedagogue or unskilled with relevant experience. It is a big advantage if you have experience with autism and anxiety, but the most important is that you can meet the person with calm, patience and understanding.

You are good at creating safety without imposing unnecessary demands and can find the balance between giving space and being ready to support when needed. You are also responsible and aware of what can help when the person becomes overwhelmed.

Working hours

The position is up to 25 hours per month. The hours are used flexibly according to the family's needs, and as a rule there are weekend shifts of 4-10 hours, as the hours are primarily used when the family participates in events outside the home.

The concrete times are agreed with the family.

Outside office hours there is always a staffed on-call phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the National Agreement between FOA and Dansk Erhverv. You are covered by DUOS’ liability and work injury insurance, and health insurance is part of your pension scheme.
