About the job

Tuse School is seeking a mathematics teacher for the upper years of primary school, and we hope it could be you!

We are looking for you who obviously loves teaching mathematics, but who can also teach social studies, Christianity and history, and who wants to spend your daily life among our large and friendly students in the upper years. If you can teach in other subjects, there is also an opportunity for that, as we would very much like to hear what you are good at besides mathematics.

In addition to a good portion of subject knowledge, we also need you to be proactive and steady as a person. That means you can take initiative, but you also care about predictability and fixed routines.

Your daily life in the role

At Tuse School we focus on forming and educating students. Therefore we seek you who can help raise interest and motivation for, among other things, mathematics.

You will teach in 8th and 9th grade, so you should preferably have experience in taking students to exams—or be willing to learn it. In addition you will also become the form tutor in the classes. This means you will have the opportunity to teach in your subjects and help shape the class’s well-being and cohesion.

We are year-group divided, and therefore there is a lot of collaboration across a year group between teachers and students.

We believe that our students learn best when they are met with warm and clear adults, and the same applies to us colleagues. You will become part of a year-group team with different competencies. Common to them is that they are structured and ambitious and therefore also have expectations of you. There are scheduled team meetings once a week in each year group.

It should be enjoyable to go to work, and we value that you also want to contribute to the adult community, because we believe it positively influences the children.

Who are you?

You are trained as a teacher and can teach in one or more of the following subjects: mathematics, history, Christianity and social studies.

We also hope that you are the type who

  • collaborates, because you know that it makes both teaching and everyday life more enjoyable and stronger
  • has control of your classroom management, because it provides the best foundation for well-being and teaching
  • has humor and dares to use it, even when the printer misbehaves
  • has drive – not as a cliché, but as a real desire to find solutions when something is difficult

Who are we?

Tuse School is a lively school with about 630 children and 45 adults. We are part of Tuse and Udby School with joint leadership, cross-disciplinary development, and a strong culture with good traditions. We focus on classroom management, and we believe that children learn best when they are met with curiosity, clarity and warmth – and this also applies to adults. A common feature for both divisions is that we are closely connected to the local community.

In addition, we have a common goal of creating a Children’s School, where the children’s voices and perspectives are included as much as possible according to their age.
