About the job

We are united in learning so that all students become as skilled as they can – regardless of background.

We are seeking two committed and professionally competent teachers for fixed positions (37 hours/week) in our general department with great desire and will to join professional learning communities.

  • Do you want to be part of a professional community where we together create participation opportunities for all children?
  • Are you curious, engaged and professional in collaboration with colleagues, children and parents?
  • Do you have the courage to reflect on and develop your own practice?
  • Can you see the value in every child, as they are?
  • Can you create participation opportunities in teaching through varied, motivating and community-building learning environments?

About us

Lumby School is a small school with a lot on its heart. We value a safe, present and strong community, where students experience that they have value as who they are, and are important for the community. Lumby School is located in the northern part of Odense with lovely green surroundings, plenty of space and a strong local community that supports the school.

We have in the general school about 120 students distributed from 0.-6. grade, and in addition the school includes a special educational department with about 100 students with diagnoses within the autism spectrum. Lumby School is part of the School Community Odense Nord, which besides Lumby School consists of Stige School and Søhusskolen.

We believe that children develop best in safe, present and developing communities. Therefore we work every day to create participation opportunities where all children experience belonging, contributing and succeeding together with others.

As employees we work in professional learning communities, where collaboration, reflection and curiosity are a natural part of everyday life. We are concerned with the children's perspectives and with developing the learning environments we provide. Therefore we seek employees who are inquisitive in their own practice, and who dare adjust course when children or communities call for something else. We are also characterized by a strong collaboration between teachers and pedagogues and see both students and parents as important players in the work of developing our practice.

About the job

We are seeking two teachers with competencies in the following subject areas

  • Danish
  • English
  • Food and nutrition

  • You are reflective, curious and development-ready about your own and others' practice
  • You are good at forming relationships and strong in classroom management
  • Your teaching is varied, didactically well-founded and community-building
  • You can create participation opportunities for children with different prerequisites
  • You are flexible, cooperative and good at communicating
  • You place the core task at the center
  • You can look behind behavior and meet students with curiosity, calm and a low arousal approach

We offer

You will become part of a workplace with a strong professional community and a work environment characterized by trust, openness and humor. We believe the best solutions are created in collaboration. Therefore we have organized our daily life so that collaboration is not just an ambition, but a real possibility. There is scheduled joint preparation in subject teams, joint preparation time between teachers and pedagogues, and parallel teaching across year groups so we can develop teaching and learning environments together.

You will become part of professional learning communities where we share experiences, reflect on practice and take joint responsibility for all students' learning, well-being and development. As a smaller school we depend on each other. We help each other, learn from each other and stand together when the task becomes challenging. In return you will get engaged colleagues, great influence on everyday life and the opportunity to shape the school's continued development.

You will become part of a department that meets the children at eye level and focuses on learning and well-being every day. Together we continually develop our practice based on the core task, because we believe that all children should experience success, belonging and the greatest possible development.
