About the job

As a nurse at the Psychiatric Center Sct. Hans, which is Denmark's largest forensic psychiatric facility, you contribute daily to making a difference for our patients, who constitute a completely unique target group: people who both have a mental illness and a legal measure.

About Ward D2

Ward D2 is a closed forensic psychiatric ward in what we call The Outlook with room for 16 patients, and we are in the middle of a good process of building our ward in close collaboration with cross-functional colleagues.

We work in multidisciplinary contact teams, where we listen attentively to each other's input, and where professionalism, collaboration and respect are the driving forces in our work.

Our approach to patients and colleagues

On Ward D2 you can bring nursing professionalism and your experience with relationship work strongly into play, and since our patients are often admitted for longer processes, you will have the opportunity to see the effect of your efforts for the patients.

You will work in multidisciplinary individual contact teams with pedagogues, nurses, social and health care assistants, occupational therapists and physiotherapists, as well as social workers, psychologists and a physician. You will have a close collaboration to create the framework for the best care and treatment for each patient.

Your professional experience is important in your daily work, where you collaborate with your colleagues to prevent new criminal behavior and create the framework for a life with meaning for the patients.

A task with great societal relevance.

Your workday may include

  • Daily care and treatment, where you can see opportunities in the complex patient journey, and how it benefits to work with patient involvement.
  • Transferring tools within CBT (KAT), working with psychoeducation and helping the patient engage in meaningful activities.
  • Motivation - and relationship work with patients who do not always feel like changing.

We offer

  • Introduction to the ward and tasks : We ensure that you receive a good introduction to the ward and tasks, and that you are assigned a mentor who accompanies you closely for the first four weeks and follows up with conversations during the first year of your employment.
  • Professional support : Management operates from a value base of trust and responsibility within the given framework, and both management, clinical nursing specialists and experienced colleagues are ready to provide sparring.
  • Competence development : In the first year you will participate in courses on conflict handling, stress psychology and psychiatry.
  • Career conversations : We have an ongoing dialogue about you and your development opportunities during the first two years, so we can support your wishes and choices.
  • Flexibility : You will have the opportunity to adapt your baseline schedule (70/30 principle).
  • Good working environment : We prioritize breaks, humor and a strong team where we help each other and strengthen social well-being.
  • Room for ideas and development : We are open to new ways of doing things, and we are interested in hearing your input and the experiences you bring with you.

Who are you?

  • You are a trained nurse and preferably have experience in psychiatric nursing.
  • You view forensic psychiatry as a completely unique area within psychiatry, where you contribute daily to making a difference for a unique patient group.
  • You desire continued professional development and see the strength in a good team.
  • You are preferably clinically supervisory
  • You thrive best with a daily life characterized by a good tone, respect for colleagues, structure in everyday life and good communication.

Salary and employment terms

The positions are in mixed shifts with work every other weekend. Start date: December 1, 2024 or January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

You are employed in accordance with the collective agreement for non-management staff in the Health Sector from the Danish Association of Health Professionals with salary placement as a nurse.

You are under employment covered by the current working time agreement entered into between the Regions’ Payroll and Tariff Board and the Danish Nurses Organization. The round-the-clock ward is staffed day and night, and you will therefore be scheduled with mixed shifts in accordance with the rules in the applicable working time agreement.

You will be employed as a nurse in the Capital Region of Denmark with service currently at Psychiatric Center Sct. Hans, Department R, Ward D2.
