About the job
Would you like to be a social and health care assistant at the Psychiatric Center Sct. Hans and primarily work night shifts? - Here you will every day help make a difference for our patients, who are a very unique target group: People who both have a mental illness and a legal custody measure.
About us
Section D2 is a closed forensic-psychiatric ward in the building “ Udsigten ,” which is Denmark's largest forensic-psychiatry. In the ward we have space for 16 patients and work closely in multidisciplinary contact teams.
With us professionalism, collaboration and respect are key words – and we are interested in listening to each other's input. We need you, who value close collaboration with patients, relatives, colleagues and managers.
It is important that you want to be part of a ward that is motivated by the complexity of forensic-psychiatric patient pathways, and that you thrive with the rehabilitative and crime-prevention work with the patients.
Your professional reflections are important for the individual patient pathways
Together we create the framework for a daily life with individually adapted activities for the individual patient.
The average length of stay is 4-5 years, and the primary purpose of admission is to prevent renewed crime. A large part of care and treatment will therefore be based on a rehabilitative effort, where we work recovery-oriented and with maximum patient involvement. It includes tools such as cognitive milieu therapy and the 'Motivational Interviewing'.
What will your everyday life and tasks look like?
Your tasks will span broadly, but you will primarily carry out night shifts.
You will become the contact person for 2-3 patients.
In the task there is a focus on relationship work and includes among others
- Observation and documentation of symptoms
- Possibility for dispensing/administration of medication
- Development of individual plans, including care and activities
- In the team you help prepare the patient for the treatment plan meeting
- Support the patient in daily tasks
- Support the patient in strategies for abstinence
Who are we?
Our vision for the ward is to create a good community where it is safe to share professional reflections and to be able to discuss what one may see differently. The discussions contribute to new shared perspectives, which are beneficial for patient care.
A cornerstone for us in our shared work environment is safe surroundings and also the physical safety and therefore you will receive thorough training, supervision and practice in prevention and handling of conflicts.
